The Gems are a new Drum Corps / SoundSport team based in Boise, Idaho.
Mission: Our goal is to provide youth with performing arts programs that will enhance their musical appreciation and skills, teach self-discipline and self-confidence, as well as teach the importance of dignity and pride in their community; all through music education.
History: Gems Drum and Bugle Corps are a newly established drum corps in the Treasure Valley. Our goal is to provide youth with performing arts programs that will help make them more well-rounded people in both life and their musical pursuits. We were founded in 2022 with the realization that Idaho was lacking this type of opportunity, and our founders wanted to provide our community and state with this type of program. Thus we were created and will strive for excellence in all ways. In 2023, the Gems had an extremely successful first season, with over 60 members and three tour locations. We cannot wait for the future!
Wish we had something like this in VA. From what I’ve seen your corps is very accessible and the only corps near me are pretty big ones like surf and crown.
summer move in's are on june 23rd and the season ends in july 13th. But you will have a opportunity to march with partnered corps like Seattle cascades and other world class corps from the area. Fees are only 550$ for the entire season. I would highly recommend coming to march this season. The drill looks great

I’ve been practicing trumpet about 2 years now, and I’m a clarinet player personally, joining something like this would be a great start for my dci experience, especially since I’m a senior now
That's plenty of experience, I started learning Baritone at the camps (<6 months) and they were very helpful with any problems, but the point is that you dont have to have years of experience, and I imagine you'll get in. Its great fun and a good intro to DCI.
I really hope that the gem set in the drill becomes a staple for you guys like how crown has there crown set it looks so cool keep up the great work :)
Just found this in my RU-vid recommended and I feel like I would want to join but I have hs marching band to balance so I might get in the world of DCI when I graduate
@@VaGoose We will be! And, we do not conflict with HS marching band season at all, as our rehearsal camps take place outside of high school marching season!
i hope to continue and keep up with the progress of this corp throughout my years lol, great job! hopefully youll get more members next year, if im able to maybe ill audition once im of age to haha that was louder than i expected when i got to the first impact of this show btw nice!

I wish all of you young people willing to throw yourselves out "on the starting line"' the very heartfelt best on your first season. No matter how hard you think it'll be; no matter your successes or what you Think your short cummings are, you just entered in to the greatest life changing opportunities of your lives. As far as I'm concerned, drum and 'Bugle' corps saved me from a life of mediocrity.. By all accounts, you're in down town drum corps country: Spokane boasted, Percussion -Naut Patiots (first NW corps to make top 25) and Renaissance (2nd plsce DCI 'A'Class). Great Falls , Mt. had The Golden Skyliners. You're on your way; Expected much from yourselfs; demand more from staff. All the best.
