I still have the Mustard color Distortion + pedal I bought in the early 80’s, because of Randy. You’re right about the floating pc board and the degrading foam. As far as sound similarities, between the original and this new pedal, if both are played on a clean channel with no other pedals/effects, there isn’t much of a difference, as I heard on another video comparison.
Greetings from India 🙏. You captured the vibe very well here, which is honestly challenging to do for the late Randy Rhoads' songs. Loved it 🔥🤘. May I know what microphones you used to capture the sound here? If I am not wrong, you recorded the sound of miked up Mesa Boogie, correct? Any specific reason for not going direct into the Apollo Twin and recording the guitar parts? Because UAD is known for great plugins ✌️
Hi and thank you! I used the Mesa for the tubes, tone and feel. From there I went into a Two Notes Torpedo for speaker IR's. I haven't used mic's or cabs in a long while. I still prefer a Tube amp though digital sounds are extremely convincing nowadays specifically the UA Lion that I've been thinking about. Thank's for listening.
it's unfortunate had badly they edited the solo on Tribute, the bootleg of Bat's Head Soup is much better and really gives an indication of Randy's immense talents on the spotlight solo nice job though and keeping Randy's legacy alive
Hey man! Love the cover! I can see you've got the brand new wah...is it too much to ask you for a quick demo...with the vt bass overdrive and NO fuzz engaged from the morley....i wonder how the wah sounds like on its own with some overdrive/distortion after wah in chain(bass>wah only>drive or distortion>clean amp)....i would also love to hear volume knob from the wah at 12 o clock and then maxed out to see how much of a boost can it get...thank you in advance!!!
You can showcase the clean wah tone first...then kick in the overdrive...and finally boost the level knob to the max...i wonder about the wah sweep on its own without the fuzz(because previous iterations seemed to be quite weak...this one on the other hand seems to have much more powerful 'tel ray' sound to it)
I've kinda wondered about how a Hot Mod would sound in a JCM800 for more extreme styles of Metal, i've always had a love for that modded Marshall sound that makes the amps sound like the closest you can get to a chainsaw. I kinda feel like a high gain Marshall style amp design is kind of underrated in the world of Dual Rectifiers, 5150's, and other companies like Fortin (who ironically enough are inspired by modded Marshall's theirselves) as well as ENGL and the Revv coming onto the scene. It's just kind of funny to me how Marshall hasn't kept up with that scene. We do have the Modded Marshall scene of course that has come forward with tons of great mods for the Marshall amp platform, and that alone is really cool to me.
I would keep it like it is. I wouldnt dump all that money into a chinese copy. Would be a waste of money. It's playable. That's all I would expect out of a $300 guitar.
I just received mine and I can honestly say it’s the biggest piece of shxt I’ve ever owned. I didn’t get the guitar advertised. Not even close. These things are straight shxt. Buyer beware. By the time I get it in playing order I could’ve bought a much much better guitar for this price. I urge everyone to stay away from these cheap Chinese counterfeits. They are absolute garbage. I’m having a Hell of a time getting my money back.
