Hi and welcome to my channel. I post videos from BBQ to home and boat project to beekeeping, hunting, fishing, dog training, maintenance and some tech projects. I try to provide a journal of my hobbies including successes and failures so we all can learn. I'm an outdoor type guy, but also not averse to working on pc projects (learned producing this youtube content). I'm have a construction background and now winding down to be a maintenance guy as a profession heading toward retirement. I love projects. My channel isn't devoted to just one subject. I know that's disappointing to some that are not interested in certain aspects, but this is my video journal. I hope you can enjoy my content.
Man if I could slap beekeepers I would I try to exsplain to people why you don’t want them top entrances but they just won’t listen so I have to laugh because I’m sorry there stupid I also build homes and I could not agreee with you more
My only issue is the top vent you don’t need 2 entrances I would remove the top vents and the moisture will form at the bottom of the hives and they will hold heat better
my last jon boat had a wooden deck.....the floor was removable. I installed these same plates, but I used stainless machine screws with a washer/nut on the back to keep the screws from being pulled through the wood too easily.
@@dom4638 Just make sure your deck is above the bottom of the boat enough for these plates before you drill the hole. Can't remember how far they extend down...otherwise you can use the dome shaped plates...downside to them is they leave a trip hazard on the floor when not in use.
Wow good to see you back!! We really enjoyed your beekeeping and learned a lot watching your videos! Looking forward to watching Bear Creek thrive again!!
I ended up getting a Helix 10 Di G4N and Ethernet Switch to connect Helix 12 Si G4N and Mega Live. Finding spot to install switch was a challenge so I ended up with a 1/4" plastic board that I glued to the inside of the boat with JB Weld Marine Epoxy. So far it has worked out really well. Labeled each connection also. Powered up and it all worked. I also was able to use the Si and Waypoints on my Helix 12. Lady from Cabela's told me I would not be able to use the Si with a Di unit, but it does connect. Haven't been on the water yet been really hot and way too many ski boats out right now. I put in a on/off switch as you mentioned for the Ethernet Switch.
oh absolutely you can see SI on a DI unit. My front unit isn't a DI or SI and I can view everything except Mega-live. I bought that because I didn't need an SI/DI and saved the $$.....its only being used as a video screen.
@@KevinsNorthernExposure If I read right to use Mega Live have to have at least Di. That is why I opted to get the Di unit. I wanted the CHO unit, and they were all gone and even Humminbird shows discontinued if that is right. My original idea was to have a Helix 10 Si G4N unit, and it would work if I had to send in the Helix 12.
Thank you for the review! I saw this desk online for a fairly large discount and was wondering if it'd work well for me, and this video told me everything I wanted to know.
With my rode wireless me and my s21 ultra this did not work. My lavalier stopped working with my phone as well. I tried everything. I wonder if its damage to my usbc port
@@KevinsNorthernExposure thanks for the quick reply. Will try to find that video. Found a 12"x48" #40 mesh on ebay for $20. Can cut 144 2" squares. The buckets cheap at HD.
Just curious where your upper entrance/vent is. Is it on the face that makes contact with the foam board? Or is it a standard upper entrance in the colony living space? I’m trying to make sense of this whole moisture thing. I’ve been a beekeeper for 7 years. And some years I do good with overwintering, and others not so much. The vast majority of my winter losses are from moisture. I know this because when inspecting my dead-outs, there’s tons of moisture and mold in the box. I live in a cold climate (northern Idaho). Anyway, I’ve been racking my brain for years, trying to figure out how to combat moisture. Thanks
I could not keep watching this vedio. This reminds me of the moment I started having a major heart attack in 2017. "The overwhelming feeling of doom" ~~~~ By yourself, walking around in a low haul boat, motor running in gear, no PDF......
The majority of people do it every day fishing with a trolling motor...while standing on an upper deck...in November, I wear pdf...because of cold water and waders....mid summer? Nah.
Im thinking about repowering my grumman challenger 16x42 with suzuki 30hp remote steer with power trim. And debating on if id want a jack plate like yours. Do you think the jack plate is worth it.? Im running a yamaha 2stroke (carburated) with no power trim i get 28mph wot runs good i just want better fuel efficiency and power trim. No power trim sucks if your a bass fisherman. I cant source a power trim unit its an 86 yamaha built mariner ..if it pt even exist for that motor idk The balance and handling is great. I dont get porpoise at any setting and it runs nice and flat at any speed over 14mph. Porpoise is a deal breaker for me. Did the jackplate cause the porpoise?
It can if you don't trim the motor correctly...but that can happen without the micro jack plate... The jack plate does give me better and easier steering control of the boat that I didn't have prior. It did NOT give me any additional speed.
I got my new unit. Humminbird Helix Mega MDI G4N. Powered up on battery and did latest update. I looked and there is no Network option in accessories. Do I have to have connected to network Ethernet to see option. Maybe I looked wrong. I didn’t have it in custom menu that could be why option not displayed. I just realized that.
@Askeyb2011 okay. You have to hook them together via ethernet cord and adapter. I cannot remember if the 12 needs an adapter. You won't need an ethernet switch until you have 3-5 networkable units. Network options won't be available until there is at least one other networked unit and both are turned on. Sometimes it takes a couple of minutes to see each other.
@@KevinsNorthernExposure The Helix 12 Si G4N does need an adapter. I have Mega Live so I have to have the Ethernet Switch to use both units and share the Mega Live too.
I have been using Navionics cards for map detail for years. Since Garmin bought the company or whatever the story is the price is ridiculous. I use to get deals on renewing my subscription for updating my card. I also submitted map that was recording and I had added more recording of map to it. That is on the Navionics card now as an option when updating card. Does the Lakemaster cover areas other commercial maps don't cover? I see that there is a premium map Western States for $200 and the VX you list is $150. We live in Oregon and mainly fish lakes and rivers of Oregon. We fish the lower Columbia River that is on the border of Oregon and Washington state.
I wish I could answer that for you. I used avionics a long time ago. It was ok....I went to lakemaster because of its detail and it's complete integration with humminbird and minnkota electronics. Lakemaster has a complete list of lakes and hd lakes on its card online for your area. Check it out and compare.
I watched a video on the Lakemaster premium the guy was using. Premium has option that if you use it is great. Not sure I would want the premium. I like the ability to set five depth shades and map detail. Even option to select time of year water conditions and type of fish and shows where to fish. I got Lakemaster a while back for a lake we would fish. Has real good Crappie and state record Smallmouth Bass for Oregon. They plant thousand of Trout and the Bass eat a lot of them. Really small Trout. We would release if not hooked bad. Lake we use to fish short story idiot wild fish group filed lawsuit to start wild salmon run in streams above lake. The Army Corps opted to drain the lake down to a stream at the bottom. Killed thousands of fish in the lake some were protected. I hope a number of lawsuits stop any of that happening again. All of the dams east of us were built with no fish passage and destroyed wild fish runs. These wild fish groups know that but instead force their wants. Won court case. Even courts are brain dead now days. No one in their right mind would force doing what they did. Take five years for lake to be close to what it was if it isn’t drained again. @@KevinsNorthernExposure
I was doing queen rearing in colony that had no other egg or larvae for a whole week because I was using the same colony for queen rearing the second time. But today I saw them having 3 queen cells in frame that had no eggs or larvae for 10 days, two of the cells were not capped yet. They moved the larvea for sure.
Hi, I am pretty close to buy the same Grizzly boat. Also i am doing videos for my channel. So far your videos inspired me, i learned alot from you. So thank you, i am looking forward to watch anything regarding the Grizzly boat.
Can you enter coordinates into the pilot link remote and have the trolling motor take you there? Or do the way points have to be entered through the fish finder?
How is the boat on fuel with the 40 horse and 6 gallon tank ? How much approximately run time do you think you could get ? I’m purchasing one soon and was just curious !
