Hey FTG, i know this video is old here but i was wondering if you could help me figure out a way that i can have a low mounted shifter setup but be able to have a shorter throw. just to give you an example here, i have a TH8A shifter with the same shifter knob that you have and i wanted to mount it lower on my rig and use an extension bar to make it longer so its more realistic to a true big rig shifter. and i was able to get something setup, but the throw on it is huge. like when i put it into the first gear position is like literally almost touching my wheel lol and then lord forbid i need to put it into the reverse position lol i have to throw it so far where its like almost at a 45 degree angle when its in the reverse position lol. I know there are tricks other than shortening the shaft. because i mean in real big rigs the shifter is literally mounted on the floor and the throw they have isnt as bad as mine. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Man they really should’ve pushed Sterling out more like IRL and added either Greeley or Fort Morgan in between them and Denver. Good vid all these years later!
Thanks, already knew how to open dev console but didn't know of all the things I could do with it. I've been using the truck spawn for my role-playing videos, You wouldn't happen to know a way to keep trucks from spawning inside my garage would you? I found a work around, but its a pain.
So what kind of axle configuration is that? That's perfect! It's a millipede on wheels and basically it's a dump truck version of the Oshkosh front discharge concrete truck.
Thank you very much FTG! I was trying to help my friend out but i couldnt find anything but now i can finally help him. Im going to download some mods myself now.
Always great to see a fellow American playing American Truck simulator. Big respects from an Aussie. American trucks are way more badass than European 🇺🇸💪🏻🦅
as someone who has limited driving manuals irl to only learning how to drive manual crane trucks because of my job, i shift with feel of the transmission, put a little pressure on the shifter and it will just pop into place which is nice. It is indeed a lot harder to do in video game than irl.
I tried doing this with 6 speed transmissions (still waiting for my truck shifter), and that's why I'm here. I'll tell you, it's not easy on a 6 speed. Also, what "real brand" mod are you using? You have different ads and brands than the mods I use for it.
Doesn't work, was recommended this video, and it resulted in no change at all to my problems with getting engine functionality. Clearly something has changed in recent updates to prevent this type of modification.
