Welcome! I make videos of varying length on a myriad of different topics, primarily related to video games. Expect video essays, random one-off topics, extensive deep dives into game and console histories, and the very occasional collection video. I studied video game design and history in university and behavioral science in graduate school, which has had a big influence on how I approach the subjects I discuss. Anyways, I’ll give you a fun fact about me: my pupils are different sizes. It’s hard not to notice once you know. Hope to see ya around!
Bro!! As a person that mainly played only the first gen Pokemon games these videos are my favorite!!! I didn't know anything about this. I'm blown away! Great job!
Eventually someone's just going to make that artwork so close to the original GameCube covers that nobody's going to notice, unless they have already done so which I'm going to bet a lot of money they have!
Maybe the posters were expected to be on a ship until 86 but they were printed in 85 so they changed the date to reflect the console being newer. Rob has a date code on its pcb
So many box art and cart art variations on Pro Wrestling beyond 5 screw and 3 screw, prg0 having the "A winner is you" prg1 changed to "Winner is you" I believe. Took me a while to find an old old 5 screw like I wanted. Nice video review!
Okay I randomly had this video plopped in front of me by youtube and decided to watch cause why not. You calling out at the end "I have no idea why you'd be watching unless your actively collecting" made me cackle. Because I am not, and do not have any plans to collect yellow at all. I just find weird niche information interesting is my only excuse XD So thanks for giving me more of that.
I currently own one of these, my stepdad the first year he was living with me and my mom and my brother had actually owned a copy of this that he had not used in so long. The card it came with he kept in good condition, he had the Gameboy refurbished. It had no back so if i dropped it it would most likely brake into a million pieces. He even got the Pokémon yellow cartridge for it. He gave me all of these that i just listed along with Mario deluxe and Pokémon silver. The only bad thing is that they Pokémon yellow cartridge was corrupted. We never fixed the cartridge. So now I am left with it, and i wanted to fix this cartridge. I just need the money, and the right tools, i can fix this cartridge and be able to play with saves on it.
This was the first NES game I ever bought (not counting the SMB/Duck Hunt pack in cartridge). I loved it and was thrilled to have such a good arcade port that I could play all I wanted. Nintendo did a terrible job promoting light gun games, as the only other one I ever bought was Bayou Billy to the extent that even counts.
Does the first print always include the Pokemon stadium insert? I see many "CIB" listings online that lack this piece. Your video shows this insert. I have seen one other listing online with it and can't tell if it goes both ways or if the listings without this piece simply aren't fully completed.
I remember being nearly delirious with joy when renting this, followed by the joy of getting my own copy for my birthday. Even my younger sister liked it because she could pick King Slender and do nothing but mash the A button to do his backbreaker. It wasn't bested until Tecmo World Wrestling a few years later.
More Charizards were discovered because of the boom, So the Charizard has not moved unfortunately. Only thing that saved you was the sealed crystal. But hindsight is 20/20. Learned a lot from your videos. I appreciate them.
While the Virtual Boy system is plagued with a lot of ... issues and generally poor content, I found "Mario's Tennis" to be a pretty good game on the VB.
I really enjoyed the depth and presentation of this series. Clearly you and your team put a lot of time into creating your own footage and researching the expansive detail you present. My only, pedantic, complaint relates to your use of the term amount where saying number would have been more appropriate. E.g. Amount of fun (good). Amount of levels (groan). This only slightly detracted from your great presentation. That aside, thank you for this terrific exploration of these early NES games.
