I never understood why people will go eat after they go to a funeral😢 Instead is best to fasting and praying, for respect !😢 best to keep the body clean off food for a while I never understood. My dad died in 2015! My sister died in 2020 of organ failure. I think of them every time the family is together. When I can’t think of name of a person I reach for my phone! Bev had an amazing memory. I had a difficult relationship with both, but I miss them terribly. No one is ever forgotten as long as there are people still alive that knew, and loved them.
Ok, that's BS. My husband's been gone for almost 3 years, and I still think about him every day. I loved him with all my heart and still do. When you truly love someone, that love never dies. Yes, you do have to make your own happiness, and in a couple of generations, you may be forgotten. But if you've lived a life worth living, you won't be forgotten that quickly.

Today is my oldest son's birthday he would have been 46. Next week he will be gone for 10 years. That day is also the anniversary of my dad's death. Not a day goes by I don't think of them both. And it feels to me like the day they left.
Sorry, every Memorial Day I make it a point to visit the graves of my family (husband, parents, in-laws, friends,) Clean, trim grass, put a flag at the grave. During the year tbey're thought about every day because I have their pictures on my sofa table, and some hanging on the wall. They meant too much to be forgotten that easily.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I knew my grandfather's father, who was my great-grandfather, for 19 years. I also know a great deal about my family. My farm house was bought by my great-great-grandfather in 1893. If families act like they're supposed to, you can have all of that. Most don't though because it's not instilled in them. It's called heritage.
