How’s the car feel? Looks like it handles great! I have stock suspension on my 97 cobra and it feels like a boat, the rear steer is awful just going down the road. I had a honda s2000 and hope to make this mustang handle close to how that thing handled but not sure if it’s possible
Yep, it was really 'fun' driving the finish slalom with the headlights in your eyes... Really wish the people in that grid would have considered that when they brought their support vehicles in. Oh well. Hopefully they never have a 6th heat again. Would much rather see them add another pair of days.
It's a Windsor with 2-bolt mains. 308 ( 302 bored 40 over ) with a forged, internally balanced crankshaft, 13:1, solid roller valvetrain/cam. I've taken it to 9,000 rpm a couple times.
Nice run!! Bremerton looks like a fun time. I'm down in Portland and haven't autocrossed in years but I can tell you Bremerton looks 10 times more fun than PIR. Hope I can make it up there someday soon.
Well... I finally come across some awesome fox body racing! I personally think this beats the living hell out of drifting... but what do I know??? Well done brother! Got yourself a new sub!
Hoosiers are scary unpredictable tires! we tested avon cross ply vs radial. the radial was 3 seconds faster on a 3KM hillclimb. Try the radials and youll never go back.
That's the nitrous. . . . . Just kidding! That switch forces the cooling fan on. It's thermostat controlled, but the switch overrides it to cool the motor even more before a run.
I enjoy watching you race your Foxbody. I'm preparing my FB for the same in North Texas. What's the deal with the dash switch. It's as though you shutoff a component while racing and then turn it back on upon completion. Next, seems like you can easily run RPMs up over 7K. Would be curious about your setup, if you're willing to share. Thanks in advance. -D
You have yourself a new subscriber. I watched several of you clips last night. I enjoy all your detail and the videos. Currently Im building my fox for autocross also. Keep the videos coming!!!
Thanks for sharing. Can you tell us the approximate curb weight of this car? (I'm trying to figure out whether 250/620-17 Avon A11 would work on a car which weighs 2700 lbs. or whether it might be too soft.) EDIT: I just noticed that you did write 2700 lbs. - so, an only 250 mm wide A11 might be somewhat too soft?
I was wondering if you could provide your engine setup or a link to where you may have posted it before. All I can gather from your videos is that its a 306 and apparently not high horsepower :P
Damn, that course looked difficult with your car. I recently switched to HP+ on the Focus, and I hate them, as the ABS can modulate them as well. I may go back to stock pads.
There was a sound that almost reminded me of rumble strips every so often? Was that actually rumble strips or something else making that noise? Also, I run a mustang for autocross myself, what year is yours? What all have you done to the car? I notice lots of removed panels and interior so I assume you've done heavy conversion to make it course specific.
Check my channel! Very different kinds of courses here in Lebanon. Our autocross events are roughly half the size of some of the tracks you're run on in your channel, and our hillclimbs are ill suited to large, heavy cars. Let me know what you think. I love your videos and what you're doing with the Fox. Keep it up!
