Right next to the junction, there is part of the RBG (Royal Botanical Gardens) known as the Rock Garden where, when I was living in the area, the wife could enjoy the floral displays while I was in close proximity to this exceptional railway observation site. Railfanning in 2015 was insane. Dash 8s were common, there were bc rails and blue devils, gmd-1s, and even soo Line sd60s. That was truly a great time for railfanning on cn. Amazing video.
The truth: BNSF started their purchases of locomotives in anticipation of the Wyoming coal boom. The jackass symbol party head Barack Obama signed into law a climate change bill that would halt the future coal basil's growth. The rear end of the jackass party Joe Biden, signed into law more crippling laws to strangle the coal industry. With all this left wing craziness, this would result in a oversupply of locomotives. This in effect affected several class 1 railroads in the choosing of locomotive storage. Another crippling recent move was signed recently by Joe Biden was the halting of liquid natural gas (LNG). A lot of long cars will be affected and the further demise of locomotive usage. The move is political to appease the members of the democratic party.
