I was looking on Spotify for your stuff and there are the two albums I once had. I spoke to you guys (Davia) back in the San Diego County area after a concert you had. I was a young photographer and was going to arrange some photos to be sent but things in life... I had all of you sign my cd with a permanent marker (like I had Crystal Bernard do) but... sigh... I lost them all.
I have a GH4 and its cool. But the colors, highlight roll off and general image with poor ISO leaves a lot to desire. I was consider a7sii but image looks soft compared to gh4. I love the 1dc footage. What's your thoughts on 1dxII vs gh4? Or 1dc?
I still really like my GH4, mostly because the zoom lenses have crazy good image stabilization and auto focus for filming. I film surfing handheld, no tripod. I will have to use a tripod for sure with the 1DX2...I just got my 1DX2 today so kind of excited to mess around some more.
How was the lcd on the back of the camera in sunlight? Was it difficult to see your subject/set exposure? The exposure looks spot on. Thanks for uploading your test.
Most of the time I could barely see the LCD...def not bright enough for daylight. I just ordered the camera and I'll be buying the "large camera adapter" to use my Zacuto eyepiece for critical review situations, although that is a bummer since the touch screen is a key function. For action shooting I will just set the focus to large square in the middle of screen and try to keep my subject there.
As far as exposure, I have been using so many dslr's the last couple years I just learn to make sure whites aren't blown out...I can always get shadows up and this footage (4K 60p) it isn't a RAW codec but is basically all jpg photos and is very easy to make adjustments...held up really well to any coloring I tried.
