Lyrics: -------- [Danish?] ------------ [English] Anton flies now All by himself What do you think Anton? Will the dreams come true? He flies through the sky And the sky hangs Like a collar Around his neck It is so black and very dark Between sun and moon Then he pisses on the darkness And the darkness Turns into light Anton flies now Then he got his first kiss His first kiss! With the tongue! The tongue… went like.. A propeller, woah! Ooh, Anton flies now…
I think this is one of the greatest music videos ever created. It is right up there with David Bowie's 'Ashes To Ashes' and A-Ha's 'Take On Me'. I have watched it 200 times and it never gets old.
Is her danish any good? bearing in mind that she does twist pronunciations for music’s sake. the only thing i could tell was incorrect is the way she says “af” which sounds like “av” in swedish or norwegian.
I’m a Dane and I only know that she sing this song in danish because a radio host said it.. she is from Iceland and the learn danish in school. I know from som Icelandic who live in Denmark that there danish with their Icelandic accent have a more souft/singing sound. A bit similar to Norwegian. I’m pretty sure that if I played this song for the first time for some Dane, they wouldn’t recognise it as a danish lyric..
Have in mind that she hate the Danes because we still rule Greenland and the Faroe Islands, plus all the years in Iceland where Danish were the second language. The story goes that she owed the instructor a favor. She did it in one take and were pissed off. I don't think she did her best 😉
First time I heard this I was a bit mystified for a minut or so. I thought "these lyrics must be Danish", but then again not quite. But then I concluded "it must be Björk, that explains it".
