I love running and in 2022 I decided to start making videos to track my progress. From there, I've started to make travel videos as well which I also really enjoy posting!
The majority of the older videos on my account are timelapses, however most of the content now is running and travel related. I try to upload something every week (or more often if I have other videos to share), usually from my latest Parkrun or race that I've taken part in, or from somewhere interesting that I've been.
I'm always open to feedback and advice on all my videos, so please feel free to comment!
@StewartForsyth sweet well we will definately do that. I came kinda close but got an injury which has seen me reduce miles and effort so I'm hitting 25 or just under at the minute so probably about the same. Be good to have it as a goal so let's do it 💪
Thanks! It was a fun run to complete and something a wee bit different on holiday. If we're somewhere there's a track to run round, I'm going to run round it!
I'd seen someone else had done a video on here of this, quite fancy it myself. Not got to the end yet so don't know how you've done lol but well done. Great video :)
Always saw Ripper Roo as the closest relative to Crash out of all Cortex's creations. It's the aspects of action and temperament: Both are adept jumpers; both of them are known to spin; both are incapable of forming sentences (at least, Roo is incapable OSTENSIBLY); and both are maniacal in their own ways.
Thank you! I was delighted I managed it, and it shows going for the consistency over just speed helped as I felt comfortable all the way round. Hope you're getting on alright with all your running too!
Hi there! I love your channel and I can see it growing into something big. I am a designer currently building my portfolio for RU-vid thumbnails and would love to help you out by creating thumbnails that would increase the chance of your videos being clicked by your target audience completely free of charge. If this is something you'd be interested in, please let me know how I can get in touch. If not, no worries. Enjoy the rest of your day!
I wonder if it's a stock sound that was used for the game, rather than recorded specifically for it? I've definitely heard the same laugh used in other things since, though.
I've always chuckled when I look at the garmin race prediction for my 5k. That said, some focused training and I actually hit it. Not based just on the speed of your runs, it uses your zones and lactic threshold to estimate also with the expectation of you doing the whole run in 4 leaning into 5. Getting used to maintaining in those zones is hard, but not impossible. 💪
That makes a bit more sense, I figured that it couldn't be using my times as there was no correlation between them and what it was predicting. I do like the different training plans it suggests - I'll check if there's one for those zones, as it would be interesting to see how they work and help.
Looks like you made a good choice, nice looking park. Looked like youd done a parkrun in distance just walking to the start lol. Solid time again, showing great consistency pal
Well done on your fastest time of the year. I reckon with a warm up and some strides ahead of the parkrun you'll likely shave another bit of time off and feel a little more comfortable doing it too.
That's something I don't understand well enough - how to warm up ahead of a Parkrun to make sure I get off to the best start. I did try for a while having a short run, but that's now been negated by running to the start.
@@StewartForsyth Well sounds like you're already on with it. Just keep it steady for the w/u dont get your self out of breath and a few strides before hand to get your feet up to speed concentrating more on cadence increase than overall speed. I'd usually do these about 20 seconds with 40 seconds stood between. Really does help. Good luck for next week pal, look forward to the update
I love this one, definitely a tough course. Not sure it ever dries up fully even through summer haha. Well done, you remained upright and got a good time
You say upright, but I went down briefly at the zig zag path section trying to overtake someone... I'm sure it is a good course, I just wasn't prepared for a winter league style event in my road shoes! I will go back it though - I'm guaranteed a PB next time!
Thanks! I did have a decent break at the end, but I am feeling like I could go on and run for a little longer after a Parkrun again. I didn't feel like that after Oakwell Hall though. I don't even think I can face editing that video yet!
Thank you! I'm still properly happy with that, as I now know I can run like that still. Sub 24 will be the next target, as soon as I'm consistently in the 24s again. The next couple of weeks might be slightly slower for a few reasons, but I'll be back on track after that.
I was actually going to look at Sketchers, but I figured that the price of my new shoes was too good to not take. I'm now a couple of weeks in and I'm still really impressed!
I've not set that up yet, but I've seen quite a lot do it. The app on the phone that has it is quite useful, and its good that phones and watches can be scanned now.
Thanks! Its a long climb, especially the first time as it keeps going up until the very top of the park! At least its not as long the second time around.
Thank you! Its just a more advanced version of the distance and time target, but I found it helpful for getting me on the right pace at the start of the run and it accounting for me slowing down as it went on. I figured out the sync issue too - I just hadn't sent it to my watch. The updated time was on the app, I just forgot to send it. It's fixed now!
Nice one, that's my home Parkrun, although I don't run it often enough. You are 100% correct though, its not a super fast course considering its pan flat on a good surface for 95% of it. The ever present coastal wind in either direction and the billiard table flatness of the promenade just dont give the runner anything back. Well done, you sure picked a nice (rare) weather day for N Wales 👍
I've been to Nova twice (this was the second time) and I've really enjoyed it each time! It was a lovely day the last time, but part of me would like to try it in some really grim weather, with the wind and waves lashing into the promenade. I think it could be fun, in a weird way!
I really enjoyed Saturday, and I want to go back again. The downhill section is really fast, and even with how I was feeling, I was still making up time! I'm convinced that when I'm fit, I can get a decent time there thats comparable to my good times at Cross Flatts.
😂😂 love it. If I made a video like this it would be about 10 hours long 😂😂 Don't think people realise the effort that goes into making videos. Keep em coming 👌
I realised early in the year that there was no point wasting the clips, so I thought this was a good use. I really enjoy the process of making the videos. I've learned a new skill, so it's been worth the effort!
Now that I have one, I'm getting to that point! I've not tried out half the features yet. Next time I'm at Parkrun I'll either try the course tracking thing, or just running 5k to a target time.
I always enjoy volunteering, it's good fun and I like seeing the run from a different angle. I only started giving blood this time last year after years of threatening to do it. I actually quite enjoy it to, as I get a biscuit at the end!
@@StewartForsyth Yes Stewart👍Have done 5 parkruns so far.Prestatyn not too far away for me.Interesting town:Wales Coastal Path and Offas Dyke.Hope to complete my sixth parkrun next Saturday👍
