It provides a safe delivery space for these pregnant sheep. After 3 weeks they are all led out into the fields to gaze with their babies, know strong enough to survive without human super vision ☺️

Yes, it's like those little crates they keep pigs in where they don't even have room to turn around. They do need to be kept in large pens together at night, and out in the fields grazing during the day. Unless, like you said, if sick or for ewes who are lambing and bonding with their newborn lambs
Hi, just to let you know “lamhokstelsel” is a afrikaans word wich means all these sheep are pregnant ready to deliver their babies. These crates provide a safe delivery space for the sheep and their babies ☺️
it is to monitor an ewe that is lambing and ensure that lambs are suckling, it also easy to spot ewes that are not producing milk. they do not stay there for ever its just for lambing then they will be free to graze in the field
Great video, not bad yields for where you are. How many hectares you farm? Where I am in France we only get just over 5 tonnes /ha if the winters aren't too wet!
