46k, 23k, 18k, 11k, VK, IRON FACE CHALLENGE, Kids Race, TRIPLE CROWN, & IRON CROWN
The Broken Arrow Skyrace, powered by Salomon, is a three-day event held at world-famous Palisades Tahoe. Elite and recreational participants will experience an unforgettable trail running experience “where the mountains meet the sky” showcasing the beauty of Lake Tahoe.
Designed in the vein of classic European Skyraces, the Broken Arrow Skyrace represents a unique style of mountain running, characterized by off-trail scrambling on steep terrain with massive amounts of vertical gain and loss at altitude....with exposure, hand lines, a ladder and snow slopes thrown in for good measure!
Broken Arrow Skyrace is part of the World Mountain Running Association World Cup and Golden Trail Series National Championships.
Agreed these videos are beautiful. They capture some of everything - the race, the scenery, the people, and it's all positive and feel-good. Really gets at the spirit of it all. It's a great contrast to the overly-dramatic, overly-produced golden trail world series. This pleasantly reminds me of their videos from 2019 that felt more light-hearted. The lack of live stream, sure it's a bummer, but heck I never see them live anyway, it's always a watch-later for me. If you put out great recap videos like this, I will watch every single one 😁
I've watched the VK, 46k and 26k vids. They are beautiful. However I did miss the full live streams like you had last year. Will you release full race vids?
Hey mate. Thanks for watching! We made the hard/easy call to scrap the livestream due to a lack of funding. We were bummed that we couldn't convince enough brands to get behind our vision but at the end of the day, the reality is a tv-grade livestream isn't financially viable for an indpendent organization like us. Maybe in the future. Brendan talks about it at length on the Freetrail Trailgating 23k podcast if you'd like to have a listen. Thanks for the support!
WOW so lucky she lived! So focused and determined to overcome the extreme odds and come back.Following her heart and deep sense of mission🌠 this is life fully lived in each moment with this heartfelt story. Kalif🏃♀️🌄
I thought they would follow how the race unfolded. Who's leading, if there's any chase pack, some elites fighting there, but I guess it was just a promotional video.
You guys presented what I could never describe. Very cool to see. Feeling very blessed for the beautiful experiences the running community brings. Thank you so much for your phenomenal coverage. I love IT!!❤
"It's going to be hard. It's going to be really difficult. There are parts you're not going to be a badass at. I'm not a badass at any of this, and so it's always hard." I felt that in my soul. <3
I think its so cute when you refer to some of the runners as "back of the packers! LOL (not offended, but the lady you were speaking about was NOT a back of the packer since i was!! LOL)
it's kinda strange too because it didn't start as low as it could have and the finish line was a fair ways below the top. Definitely could have gotten a bit closer, but it would have had to go up quite a bit more to get the full km in.
We assessed our approach to last year's first effort and made improvements. We still have items to clean as this weekend was only our second experience. We definitely improved on mountain visuals this year and I'm really happy that effort came through. We'll keep working on smoothing out the behind the scenes setup and story telling and already fired up for next year!
A great day of racing ruined by that Strava executive poisoning the event with her woke politics at the end. If the ultra-running and the companies that promote it are going to turn it into yet another Marxist propaganda outlet, I will be one of the 60%+ fans who leave. We get far too much politics already. Give us a break?!?!?! Please!!! You ESG pinheads are ruining everything you touch.
Finished the 52k today! What an amazing race! This was my first trail race and second time going the marathon distance. I will be back!!! Weather was insane!!!
