Youth minister in western ks. Married with one daughter and three sons. Love camping, rc planes, cars and drones, and youth ministry! On this channel is mostly me documenting some great trips I have had to the "the Land", working on my tiny cabin, and all the other great things that come with raising a family of four kids. I grew up in Aurora Colorado and moved to western ks in 1997. Been there ever since. I'm old, short, i may not be doing it right but I'm doing it.
You know you are a man if you can lug around one of those 7 gallon Wal-Mart water jugs- when full those things are just about at my limit, but then I am getting old. Nice video as always.
I don't think I could handle a crowd like that- I go to get away from the crowd ! @ about 5:56 makes a nice "still" photo, suitable for framing as they say. Pretty bad cut- might leave a scar, but then sometimes a scar is desirable. I have a pretty good one I got as a teenager under fairly mundane circumstances, but with a little embellishment it still makes for a good story. Take care out there !
Hey Dad and big brothers, you may not be aware of it now but the little man is having the time of his life right now. These are memories that will be etched into his brain forever. Camping with three of the most important and influential guys in his life. Cherish these days. ❤🎉
40s is warm? That’s hypothermic weather without the proper clothing. Awesome video! These are wonderful memories your boys will carry with them for life!
3 vids in, I think last trip with all 3 sons, your trip with Eli and this one here. I've subbed and really love your channel. Very chill and relaxing. Your sons are blessed to have a good Dad, that lil cabin will create "forever memories". A true slice of heaven on earth with the amazing views and hiking. Thanks for sharing your time and I'm happy YT recommended you today. Safe travels to you God bless to that person on the motorcycle, needing a heli-lift out must have been serious.🙏
Hey, I was just thinking (always risky): filling-in the porch to bring it up close to flush with the cabin floor will make it easier for them rodents to walk in. Hope to make a trip to my 10 by 12 next week. Summer heat is here. Take care !
Yes. When we first laid the rock it covered those holes. Settled so much that it is now exposed. Yes. Heat is here too. Busy summer for me. Won’t get out there til Mid July. Get out there when you can. Thanks for watching
As a kid, my siblings and I went fishing and camping with our parents. Even though we truly did enjoy it at the time, it seemed more like Dad's "thing". We "kids" are now much older, and dad passed away almost 20 years ago. My graying brain cells realized a long time ago just how special, precious and fleeting those irreplaceable moments were. I am so very glad we shared those rustic times together. Memories that I will warmly cherish forever. So, kudos to you and your brood: bonding and making life-long memories! Priceless!!!
I'm 53, and I have found memories of camping with my dad and my three brothers. We tell stories, go fishing, go swimming, go canoeing, and making a bomb fire. Cooking hot dogs on the fire, grilled cheese sandwich, and hobby dinner. My dad built a cabin in the woods but no snow where we camp. Had no bathroom so we did our business be hind a tree away from camp so we wouldn't smell the poop. Dad barried a bucket in the ground so that what we poop in and on a stick was a roll of toilet paper. We got naked and bath in the lake . What a day to a tree fell onto the cabin and flated it. We did not rebuild.
@@Tinycabin That explains the mountains and the snow. I live in the North Eastern part of the province of Ontario Canada. All we see is bush but it's still nice.
How to make grilled cheese sandwiches the Canadian way. Lol! Butter or margarine on the outside of the sandwich, you can put some on the inside too but the cheese may not melt into the bread as much. Put Kraft cheese slices on the inside. Cook in a cast iron skillet turning often until the cheese has melted and the outside is golden brown. For variations, you can add garlic powder or Mrs Dash by sprinkling it on the outside and you can put some on the inside if you want. You can add different cheese and crisp bacon, ham or Canadian bacon. If you are using those sandwich makers like you have turn them often. Enjoy!
This was recommended to me, not sure why. But thanks for sharing. @ 22:00 all that snow and you put water on the fire, save the water and use the snow. I hope all of you enjoy your day.
I remember times like this with my dad and my three other brothers. We weren't inundated with snow so we never felt the need of a walled camp. We just encircled a fire pit with tents with an outside cook fire with hangers for coffee and cookpots and a flat grill on a pivot for swing a frying pan around over the fire. It was a neat setup with fond memories. My dad died back in December, 2 months shy of his 90th birthday but no one will remove my memories of our camping and fishing trips.
Hey man just came across this video and really enjoyed it. Always good to have a way to stay in touch with the kids . My 3 kids lived camping and the outdoors. I’m a new subscriber so looking forword to more. Safe travels
First (again) I am assuming this trip was a while back- getting into summer heat now. Trying to design (cheap) sun shades for my shed windows to keep it cool. I get the southern sun in winter which helps keep the place toasty, but way too much heat now. Nice video, as always. Take care.
Might be a bit too "snowy" to get in there now. Noticed a while back that you added a gasket to the stove door (it does not come with one). NIce video as always. Take care.
Would have loved to be there with this last snow storm. No chance we would have made it. Lol. No. The stove did not come with a gasket. So finally got one added. Thanks for watching!!!
