So when the baby wakes crying for a feed, you have to tell them to wait while you boil a kettle, wait half a hour, bring the temperature of the water down. All before you can feed?
Hi. The kettle is left for 30 mins to allow the water temperature to cool down to 70 degrees. At this temperature any bacteria present will be killed off ensuring a safe feed for your little one. If the water is any hotter than 70 degrees, then this may affect the mixing quality of the formula. We do know that many parents use the “flask method” to make night time feeds a bit easier. To do this you pour just boiled water after about 15 - 20 minutes of cooling into the sterile flask and use this to make up feeds during the night (or day if you are out and about). The water in the flask should stay hot enough to make up a feed for around 4 hours, you would then pour the desired amount into a clean sterilised bottle, along with the powdered formula. All you will then need to do is to cool the feed to the right temperature for your baby, either by holding the bottle under a running tap, or by cooling the bottle in a bowl of cold water. I hope this helps. Best wishes, Gemma from the Aptamil UK team.
Hello. What temperature of water is optimal when mixing feed? I have heat insulated kettle and after 30 mins of cooling it’s still pretty hot (about 70C), it seems too high for mixing
Hi, thanks for getting in touch. If you have boiled the kettle and allowed it to cool for 30 minutes, the water will be around 70C, which is the optimum temperature. Please do send us a DM on Facebook or Instagram, if you would like to chat with us further about this. Best wishes, Lucy from the Aptamil team.

Hi😊 How long can SAFELY store in room temperature the prepared formula if I just let it cool down on its own?? I feel like the "use within 2h after been prepared" is a scam as long as it takes 1,5h just to cool down, if you know what I mean. Best regards
Hi. We follow guidance from the Department of Health with regards to bottle preparation and would always recommend following the instructions on the pack. You can read more about this on the NHS website. Please do send us a message if we can assist further. Best wishes, Lucy from the Aptaclub team.
We would always encourage to follow the instructions on the pack which are the guidelines from the Department of Health. This is the safest way to make a bacteria free feed and helps to avoid scolding and lumping of the powder. In regards to nutrient loss, the milk powder should not be mixed when the water has just been boiled because some of the vitamins are sensitive to heat and therefore may reduce the nutritional content of the milk when fed. To ensure the milk is of optimal quality, please ensure to follow the pack information when making feeds.
I am using A.R. milk because my daughter has silent reflux. Problem is she also has milk allergy. I would really like to see A.R. milk with extensively hydrolyzed milk and not just ordinary hydrolized.
I don't understand the point of boiling 1L of water when I need 90ml. Can I use Mineral Still water? What temperature does it need to be when mixed with the powder? I need to start around 40 minutes in advance? Wow
Hi George, we always recommend you follow the guidelines on the packaging. By boiling 1 litre of water and leaving it to cool for 30 mins it will reach the optimum temperature for mixing the perfect bottle. In the UK, boiled and cooled tap water is the only water recommended to use when preparing a formula feed, or as a drink. We can be sure that this water is safe and suitable to make up a feed. Kind wishes, Alice from the Aptaclub team.
Babies can differentiate between mum and dad, when I was pregnant whenever I feel uneasy and my husband talks to her I feel calmer, she kicks more when her dad is around and almost no activity when he travels...😂😂😂

Hi Nasra. Are you referring to our milks? The formulation changed in the summer of 2018 and the previous version is no longer available. Kind regards, Anna

I'm wondering if there's any problem or just a faze baby's go through, all the gp etc think is maby puting her on a higher calorie milk instead
Good afternoon, thank you for your message. We would advise discussing your little one's symptoms with a healthcare professional for further advice. Many thanks, Briony.
