I had a heater hose crossover leak. It has an H connection right over the intake manifold. Had over heating issues and a CEL. Heater hose crossover had shorted out my coil pack causing a misfire making the engine run on five cylinders. I was getting bad gas mileage and overheating. What fun! Discovered the leak which fun because did not happen till the vehicle was warm and the pressure built up. Once the leak was discovered and each plug wire was removed one at a time checking for lightning, Replaced the coil and the H-connection running like champ. 169,000 on the Vulcan 3.0. Have had all three engines the employed, 2.3, 3.0 and 4.0. Great trucks and if you change the oil regularly they are bullet proof.

thanks dude, this actually really helped yeah the inner assembly is what I was most curious about now I know what I needed to fix and its so much better my issue wasnt so much wind resistance but over the bumps my mirrors would swing towards me through the shocks and vibratsitions and the user manual for the bike doesnt even mention that inner 10mm nut just how to take the mirrors off and replace them so thanks for that 👍
Thanks for your vid - what a cool area and as you said, some neighbors to get to know! I just bought an '08 VerSys 650 and have dropped it twice. A bit heavier and taller than I used to ride so getting familiar with the weight and planning to get an improved seat and possibly lower the suspension symmetrically to make going flat-footed easier. The previous owner put on luggage racks / side braces and handlebar guards so nothing other than my pride has been wounded so far!
My 2011 Ranger rarely sees 4000 rpm. Ofcourse i'm lugging a dual axle trailer that weighs 2500 pounds empty, with cargo anywhere between 1000 pounds to 5000 pounds. Lugging it from New Brunswick to Ontario and coming home.Cruising along at 110 to 130 kmh. Mine is an automatic. I turn the over drive off to avoid constant shifts. You have to play with the throttle alot so it doesn't drop to 3rd too often. 365,000 + km on the odometer.. Haulng heavy loads for years now. Trucker speed will make your ranger last long.
Just incase anyone is interested. I just had a crack in the same spot on a Advan Gt forged rim. Was 210 bucks to fix by a professional shop. It's welded, repained and balanced with tire.. spend the money. You only get one life and for a cheap rim it's not worth doing it hack. But his method will at least get you home if it's not holding air.
