I just quit my selecting job because it was a mess at my job. I was working at an Orlando DC (Not Foodpro, it was somewhere else) and it was just a huge mess. Sweeping and bailing for the 2 weeks after orientation. Then they have the balls to say *okay you’re starting night shift good luck*. Bull fucking shit. So I actually spoke to the warehouse manager and told him I got zero training in the freezer or the produce and they’re wanting to dump me in night. So they gave me training, but the trainer didn’t teach me shit. He didn’t give me anything to use. Then after that debacle, I thought I could handle night shift in either area by myself. (I’m 18 so I never picked before). But haha. Never picked before+ Little to no training=Them bitching to me about my numbers each week. They literally had me in the office every week saying *oH YouR nUmbErS ArE HorRibUHL. BRIng tHeM uP oR youRe FiReD By MaY sEConD. Lmao. And better yet, listen to this, one day when I wasn’t working, I was injured so badly to the point I had to spend a day in the hospital and was told by the hospital. By certified medical doctors. To stay off my feet for the next 3 days. But they didn’t understand shit. They counted them as occurrences. I got *Oh If yOu gET AnOtHer OccuRrEnCE, yOuRe fiReD*. Lmao. It’s something called an injury that’s not my fault. But yet, I’m treated like it’s my fault and I had the control over it. I quit the next day they said that.
The thing about errors is sometimes it's not your fault. It's someone else, or the customer throwing you under the bus for their own incompetence or greed.
I make 1,200-1,500 a week! After taxes. This Job is for the athletic type. I personally find the job fun and challenging. I help develop other guys around me into more efficient selectors. Making us a stronger unit. Yes i have a higher education. Multiple trades in the construction field. But this is the type of work i enjoy the most. If i had to do an office job my entire life i would eventually jump off the damn building on my lunch break. Lol. Order selecting is the best job ive ever had. Hands down.
Just amazing, I already love this company. You know from the beginning what to expect and what is it exactly that you have to do, well done FoodPro for honesty. Slaves?...well, as long as it is your choice before taking this job, I don't think so. Also, being physically demanding it is not a bad thing...it keeps you in shape:)
Lol and go into 50k-60k in debt, nah im good ill make my 70k a year and do it with ease!! Only the weak dont make it and im not talking about strength cause im a little dude! Its all in your head 90% of the time!
Piece rate is the stupidest system I've seen in any job. It literally pushes people to put garbage out the door. Notice, none of these people are actually looking at what they're skidding. That's the "Idgaf it's in a box."
TuWhee Brown what's more difficult the computer system picking products or the lifting and stacking I'm be hired at US foods hopefully can get more insight
Been a selector at associated foods warehouse in Utah for 5 months, your body gets used to it and you build a rhythm and lift safely. It's not a dream job but the concept is easy, the labor is hard sometimes, and you can make alot of money.
