I wish they had explored Dennis' child (and s*x) abuse storyline more. They touch on it briefly and Den uses it against him and that's why he loses his temper in the pub. But they don't really mention it again. I wish we was him tell Sharon about it and explain that's why he lost it in the pub and accidently hit her. Dennis clearly can't bring himself to admit it so locks it inside. He needed to work through it.
Stumbled upon this series in the US during this part of the series. I wouldn't normally consider myself a 'soap opera' fan, but I could not look away! It was really good.
For those saying Jean is horrible, if you're a real fan you'll know that Jean has bipolar and she isn't taking her medication. Anyone with a memory will remember how cruel Stacy has been to Martin and her own children when she stops taking her medication and has an 'episode'. This is what bipolar can do without medication and left untreated. Its like they're a different person
Wow Minty used to be a dodgy geezer and a bad wide boy from his early years 2002 until early 2004. Just like Barry used to be like that in his early years and the same for Nigel and Billy early years too. Funny they became comedy character as we get to know them more and years later.
The performances that Letitia Dean and Nigel Harman delivered in the episode where Sharon confronts Dennis over killing Dalton were impeccably sensational. It demonstrates the drama between two surrogate siblings who fall in love and how their portrayals can deliver their finest performances in a matter of seconds.
Dot always gave such great advice. In her the writers created a strong, tough yet gentle character who had absorbed a lot of pain and simply learned that life goes on. Live with it, make do! She always had compassion for those who were young and still learning that. They captured an attitude and philosophy that is sadly lacking these days.
