Home improvements are HARD, you did great, especially for your first time 🎉🎉 Edit: rolling around on the floor manically laughing at your own mistakes, and eating free, not sus at all FB marketplace cupcakes? My kinda people 😂
Eeeeeeek! I am in the process of remodeling my house alone also and it is seriously never-ending. I thought I was done with the bedrooms and was on a phone call with a friend, when he said "Oh, this weekend I painted all of the closets in my house. I have been in my house for 12 years and have never painted them, have you ever thought the same?".. Well here we go... painting closets.
"Why am I flexing on kitchen hardware?!?" Cause you're old now & kitchen gadgets get you excited 😁. Welcome to the next level of adulthood 🙃 One suggestion... Amazon wishlist & PO Box for future projects. Cause I'll send you some plates 🍽 😂
Hey Internet Niece, your internet Auntie is so proud of you. Prayers continue for your safety and increase. God bless you! Keep up the amazing job. Glad to see that you are well.
Omg 😲... i was just thinking about your house this morning... I was like, "How she going to tease us with a house renovation project & bounce!" Happy you're back!
Congratulations on your new home! It’s lovely! You will love that attic fan on the cool evenings after a hot day! We grew up with one in North Carolina and it was really awesome! I suggest that you focus on one thing at a time to update. Don’t get overwhelmed by wanting to do so much all at once. Nice backyard too! Pro tip, don’t leave your dog outside alone. Your dog is small enough a hawk, owl or bald eagle can pick it up. Keep us updated on how things are going! So excited for you!
I also have a whole house attic fan (NC). Ensure you open at least a few windows on opposite sides of the house so air can flow when you turn it on. When I mop, I turn it on and the floors dry so quickly (except in the cold months I don't turn it on). I had my home rented for years and moved into a newer.. .. just returned back to my old home w/ character. Glad I never sold it. Lots of damage by tenants, slowly fixing it up. Hired help for some of the big projects. My small bath has the same sink!!! I even removed the old fashion mirrored medicine cabinet, scrubbed it clean, spray painted white along with the screws and the shelf brackets and reinstalled it.. All the new ones at HD the size needed were plastic, and this one was metal with the glass shelves.. It cleaned up so well.. Had to get a new roof, windows, gutters and all the doors changed. My old Knotty cedar kitchen was not salvageable...but kept the walls (sanded and clear matte finish) and the new kitchen looks great against the old knotty cedar walls which is open to the knotty cedar den!!! ... nice mixture of new and old to keep some of the 1962 character. Some were telling me to paint the wood walls... so glad I did not. I love it and get so many complements because it is one of a kind. All wood floors some refinished, some replaced. kept the old tiles in my baths. Lots of work, but I like it very much. Rooms were painted by a handy guy all the same color just so I could move back in 1+ year ago.. but now sanding and painting each of the rooms the colors I like myself. Everyone at my local Home Depot knows me (I was also there constantly!). Still more to go, but I take my time, work slowly or hire help when the job is too big for me alone. Your home is beautiful! Congratulations, best of luck with all of your updates and renovations. Take your time, hire help (research) when needed!
The living room lol that’s next to your kitchen is a dining room your LIVINGROOM has the fireplace in it. The bathroom hamper isn’t for moving around once your clothes fill it you then use a plastic basket to take to the laundry room 😊
Those wooden floors are very beautiful. They give your home character and cosiness. You don't really need to do so much for the time being. I mean the house looks totally livable.
I wish I could feel this brave. Much respect. How long did U stay? About 8:00 in U look extra tired❤ I will more respect and know to trust in Mother/Father❤
Happy ❤Happy for U! I vote keep cabinetry with window seat, the hamper is stationary, dining room, then sunken living room. Either way, the gem is ITS YOURS! Your Choice!💫So proud and happy for U❤
Great, well planned out. You can plant your food forest and the rest will fall into place. Love and safety for your journey. I can't wait to see more. ☺
Congrats 🎉! I think it’s a beautiful home. I think the “1st living room” is actually the dining room and the 2nd living room is your actual (sunken) living room, which is pretty dope. I’m looking forward to seeing the transformation of you making it your own. Well done!👍🏽👏🏽👌🏽
Be careful have several friends from Oklahoma they all say it's very racist and they will never move back. They are from different areas. One is an only child and she is from Norman Oklahoma and has horrible stories of racism.
I think it depends on where you're at? My Dad passes for white, and has relatives that look white, native, black, and racially ambiguous. The only really racist thing I remember happening when I was little was on a trip somewhere between Oklahoma City and New Orleans, so I'm pretty sure it wasn't even in Oklahoma. But my Dad does talk about how scared the piano tuner was after accepting Grandmommy's dinner invitation and realizing Grandpa was white. He and his helper stayed, and Grandpa didn't have any issues with it. 10 of his 16 niece or nephews were mixed, and he loved all but 2, and that had nothing to do with race!
Girl my house has the same floors, same bent in floor i have two dogs.. toes dont get stuck. I also have the hamper in my bathroom with pink tiles!!! Lovely home with your touch it will be beautiful. Oh yeah same fireplace as well.😂
Florida is the worst but you may have gone from frying pan to fire because Oklahoma has weather... Aside from the weather, I love the you jumped you made into this. The house has so much potential. The whole house fan makes it worth it imo.
Congratulations!! I've been in Florida (Jacksonville) for three years from NC, moving back to NC in a couple months. Visiting Florida "Yes", Living Here "NO".
