That French Horn always nails it. Only the likes of an open-minded Brian Wilson could have the often considered weird and different insrtuments and sounds for his music. All the best to differences!!
Saw them the very next night in New Orleans. They were such a huge part of the soundtrack of our youth. What an absolute treat getting to see them after all these years. Thank you, Producers!
Baton Rouge is not far from my hometown, New Orleans. I saw Judas during the Screaming For Vengeance tour in New Orleans with a friend and 'Christian' wife, who was not a heavy metal fan at all. I was surprised when I heard what she had to say about the event. She said that to her own surprise, that she liked it and enjoyed the show !!! I couldn't believe it, but I was happy she enjoyed it !!! The show was awesome, complete with Halford rode out from behind 2 dummy stacks of amplifiers, on his Harley Davidson !!! But this show doesn't have Glen or KK playing guitar. Disappointing.
The Screaming tour didn't stop in New Orleans it was in Baton Rouge at this same arena,I was there,if you saw them in New Orleans you probably saw the Ram it Down tour in 88. And yes it would've been cool to see Ken and Glenn up there, but I wasn't disappointed in the least.
Priest, to me; being very old school.....has to be one of the biggest and most ridiculous bands to see perform. They sound NOTHING like their old selves with Richie and Andy. They even have a strange, unrecognizable appearance than they once had. Not because of age; but because 2/5th"s of the band are "hired guns" per say. For me, its heart-wrenching to watch the Priest perform with these hired guys. If you cant get the famous, and recognizable line-up that made Priest FAMOUS......then retire alteady!! I know, I know....young people will never understand. But that makes them uninformed, not me!!
Saw Priest 40 years ago in this same venue on the Screaming for Vengence tour with the lineup that made them famous. While I would love for that lineup to have continued on that is not the case anymore. I think they still sound amazing and am glad that young people can still get to hear Rob sing these classic songs. I think the current band do these songs plenty of justice and Rob has lost very little to old age.
