Welcome to my channel based in beautiful New Hampshire, USA! My name is Melissa, and I'm excited to share my mostly solo adventures with you. I'm passionate about motorcycles, so join me as I explore the open roads on my 2023 Honda NC750X motorcycle named Orion. Travel is another passion of mine, and I'll be showcasing my explorations both near and far. And of course, there may be the occasional surprise cameo of my mischievous black cat, Sheldon. He's always up to something!
I share videos as often as I can, so please subscribe, like, comment, and share! Enjoy!
Is it easy to put them in without the applicator? I want to get a pair, but can't imagine needing to use a tool to put them in every time I put my helmet on. Thank you for the review!
Another channel I watch is Wiltshire Man. He makes videos on several subjects. But his motorcycle ride videos are really worth watching. His latest is Riding With The Vintage Boys. He often rides with groups of vintage riders. He lives in England and in this video the lead motorcycle is a 1960 AJS with a 84 year old rider.
Also his bicycle ride videos offer beautiful views of the English countryside and small villages and historical England. Thanks for your list of channels. I’ll give them a look 😄
That was really a beautiful ride along the dirt roads. There seemed to be quite a few houses along those roads. Is it difficult to get in and out of those areas once the winter snows hit? I bet to live along the back roads would be a peaceful experience 😊 Thanks for the video!
Thanks. It does tend to be difficult to access those dirt roads during winter, especially the narrow ones. Some of them are closed in sections where no one lives so the town doesn't have to maintain them.
Thanks for the ride alongs! Ha Ha, I too share your opinion of snow. I see it as giant buckets of white paint that has been spilled over everything and desperately needs to be cleaned up!
The views from the top were wonderful. I agree that on a clear day they would be even better. Maybe find some trails with no elevation to build up your stamina. Thanks for the video !
Definitely would be better on a clear day. That's probably a better idea, if I start with no or less elevation! I also realized after I got home that I could have bagged another Ossipee 10 peak while I was up there, but it's good that I didn't push myself any further.
I'm curious. I ride a Super Tenere and have put on three sets of Battleax Tires. I'm nearing 60,000 miles on the bike. When I got my last set, my model of Battleax no longer came in a radial tire. So, I went with the same make but not radial. And I really don't like them. They are NOISY. I just finished a 2100 mile trip and I guess they worked fine but I'm curious.. did you go from a radial to nonradial tire? Also on the helmets, for about five years I've used an HJC full face modular helmet. I love it. And I just added one of the "stop lights" to the rear that is activated by acceleratometers so that when you down shift it comes on. I was concerned about the added weight, but its been perfect. Stay safe. Let me know if you're still on radials.
Hi Richard, thanks for subscribing! My original Metzelers were radial, these new Battlax are also radial. They are definitely noisy!! I'll be trying something else next year. Regarding the helmet brake light, is it a Brake Free?
@@MelissaL Yes, the Brake Free. I love it. I had a fellow motorcyclist following me through a Chicago traffic jam that last 45 minutes in 92 degrees. He said the light was better than just a brake light on the bike because it was higher and more visible. A good test of the brake light but I hope to never go through such traffic again!. Noisy radial tires, that is a new one. Ride safe. BTW, I'm 73 and never rode a motorcycle until I was 58. In retirement, motorcycle travel keeps me sane!
I need tires on my 2023 NC750x only 4000 miles original Dunlaps. I’m trying to make it to end of season because I can’t afford shop fees. Labor costs more than the tires in NE Ohio. I have to learn to take wheels off myself this winter
That would be a really great skill to learn! The cost of tires and labor is horrible. I wanted to wait to end of season too but mine were way overdue and probably not the safest.
Wow you have been busy! Good luck with your position interviews. I’m confident you will land something that is just right for you 😀. Thanks for the update and I look forward to the next bike ride video.
I don't think it would be good for temperatures that hot. I switch over to my mesh jacket when the temps get over 60. That being said, I really like the Parabolica.
@@Pfeiffer-fp2se I try to not ride below 60 F...that should say I switch over to my mesh jacket around 65 F. I wear a long sleeve thermal shirt and sometimes even a thin zippered sweatshirt under the Parabolica if it's really chilly.
Pleasant ride! Those fitness trails are common around here. Each time I watch one of your motorcycle rides, I think how wonderful it must be to live and ride in an area free from bumper-to-bumper high speed traffic ! Thanks for the video.
I've never seen one of those fitness trails. Pretty neat! I try to stay away from the traffic-congested areas...I prefer a more leisurely ride! Thanks as always for your support.
Thanks for the “ride along”. Northern Maine is a beautiful looking place. Does the water always flow that strong at the falls or is that spring melt from higher up? It looks like you have some enjoyable areas to ride in. Where I live is dominated by heavy traffic. Not a pleasant experience even in a car !
Most of the footage was northern New Hampshire (White Mountains), but the falls are in Maine. The water usually flows pretty well, we've had enough rain lately!!
Well a good cat carrier is a must, a harness and leash because you will want to take him for walks. keep food to a minimum, when you get to where you are going to be living keep him in a room with his carrier so he can get used to it.
At least when you live in AZ you won't have to deal with Daylight Saving Time. You will have 360 good days for riding your motorcycle. I have a few recommendations for good restaurants there. There are good places to hike in and around Phoenix
I was born and spent my early life in a warm climate. But as happens, life took me towards the north and now with children and extended family living here, I’m staying put! Every time I see a flake of snow and feel a freezing cold wind blow down my neck, I curse but smile 😊 and dream of life in a warmer climate.
Congratulations on your academic achievements! Also it sounds like your new position may provide new experiences. I am positive you will continue to reach your professional goals. I truly enjoy your motorcycle ride videos. Thanks for sharing them.
