Update: Over the weekend my son turned the chair upside down and immediately found missing bolts that hold the base to the chair. Upon further investigation he found one missing bolt under the chair and it appears from the chair that the other bolt was never installed. He went to Lowes got bolts with locking nuts and the chair is working fine at this time. Ashley HomeStore could have saved me a lot of anxiety if only they had honored their warranty and have the tech that was already coming out to also look at the chair and install the bolts themselves. Now they have lost me and mine as a customer and we will bad mouth them at every chance. I got a google message from Ashley HomeStore on 3-5-20.
I believe it is pertinent for every person or node along the supply chain must understand how that product with be effected both upstream and downstream. The supply chain should not be made of multiple segments, but of a network of free-flowing optimization chain where there is a large amount of communication between inbound and outbound. Taking the supply chain to the multi-echelon level is not only important but should be required in all corporations, not only the large ones such as HP and P&G. Inventory optimization should be the priority of supply chains in every industry.
The problem i see with VMI are the slow moving items that fluctuate in sales. Without a safety stock and dealing with perishable inventory these are the items that tend to be dumped and credited by the vendor. Thanks for the upload!
