Is there an update to this? I have the same problem but the website and software has changed and I cannot deregister my Gen 1 Alexa Echo Plus in order to re-register it.
Just got it to work after a week of trying different things . I used alexa on the fire tablet and chose Echo Input from the device list . Then I just followed the regular set up steps . No router reset or configuration
Hey! Had the same problems. The web page has now been replaced which makes it just as difficult as before. By Mistake I pressed set up “Tap” and it worked first time. Took less than a minute.
Wanted to report I don’t have a windows device, and tried logging in online on my Mac, but there’s no more log in available. It wants you to use the app instead. So I called customer service. They told me it won’t pair anymore, and the only option offered to me is to trade it in. I believe you get a 20% discount and $30 store credit as of today Oct 19, 2023.

I have the Amazon Alexa Echo 1st generation. I would like to connect it to my car cigarette lighter, but I don't want it to use my car speakers. I would like it to be a stand alone speaker as if I plugged it into the wall outlet. I can't find the right adapter to do that. What model of adapter work in my car and fit properly with the Amazon Alexa Echo 1st Generation?

Ahh at last this no longer works. page of set up new device is no longer serviced. Force directs you to app now. I gave up had to purchase one. Im sad because this was the first releases You actually had to be invited to get it. Its like an old friend. I was first adaptor on the street for alexa to snoop in on my private life…yawn its kinda boring. I think she decided to move on.
@@DrChada this blows...mine just started having connection issues...some stations like Sirius would start to play then stop after a minute. Tried to reset it and now can't.
Right when I started watching this video my alexa got connected so I dont have to watch this anymore also if anyone is having internet issues go to settings and clear cache and log out and back in and it works
We just changed internet providers a few days ago. Tried this method and got as far as the first page of the setup. It had a disclaimer that this page no longer works with all versions of Echo and will work with fewer models as time goes on. I did find the Echo Plus button on the bottom. When I clicked on it, the page said "Page not available. Too many redirects." I unplugged the Echo Plus and tossed it in the trash where Amazon wants it. It was an ill advised purchase in the first place and seldom used except for a simple timer reminder.
hey guys. i couldnt get it to work in app and then tried the site on multiple devices and browsers to no avail. after talking to customer support i learned that you can simply turn off bluetooth on your phone and hit skip in the alexa app when prompted to turn it on. you should then be able to proceed.
My issue / if anyone can help/ I’m just trying to change it to a different WiFi in my house, but when I follow the directions in the app, for this specific one, it will not show the Wi-Fi that I need to connect to. It just stays connected to the old one. (which still works by the way, but I want to change it to a different Wi-Fi in my house.) - if anyone has any suggestions or help, it would be greatly appreciated🙏🏼
I bought this at Goodwill for $6.99. It looked brand new. Had I not stumbled across your video, I would have thought I wasted my money. Thank you very much for taking time out to explain how to get this thing up and running. I love my Echo Plus ‼️
Awesome!!! I had gotten 2 of these and two 1st gen dots for $60 and thought I got ripped off. However; I refused to be defeated and spent more than $60 of my time trying to figure it out. I am truly grateful that this video has a life of its own and continues to help people as mine are still going strong!
