Man this song brings back so many memories when i used to play this game. Rose was always my favorite in the game. Her dark personality is what i resonated with allot in the game. Good times👍🏿
The Legend of Dragoon will ALWAYS be my childhood video game. What a beautiful masterpiece. Screw Final Fantasy...that game can descend into Hell alone.
This is cringey but I first heard this song in 2011 in a flipnote on my old dsi xl. It randomly popped into my head 13 years later. Im 26 now and its so melancholic. Times were simpler back then.
n a moment of revelation, the truth unfurls, As Emperor Diaz's guise, the facade, it curls. Before Rose and Dart, a shock to behold, For Zieg, long lost, now his tale is told. Recalling the origin, the Tree of Life's root, Where races emerged, from the deepest pursuit. Gigantos, Dragons, and Humans in kind, Winglies ascended, a power to bind. The 108th race, a harbinger grim, The Virage Embryo, with destiny's whim. Sealed by Winglies in ancient despair, To thwart destruction, a burden to bear. Zeig, in battle, against Wingly's might, Faced fate's cruel hand, turned stone in the fight. Eons passed by, memory erased, With Rose he found solace, in time's gentle embrace. Neet's tragedy, a catalyst profound, Awakened the past, truths unbound. Humans destroyed the soul's crystalline hold, Freeing the God, with tales yet untold. The Moon Child's guise, a vessel to seek, To carry the soul, where destiny speaks. Rose, the Black Monster, in shadows did roam, Each Moon Child's end, to save world's own. Shana, the key, the Moon Child's crown, In her, the soul sought its way down. Rose moves to end, fate's cruel decree, But Dart's defiance, sets Shana free. Zieg intervenes, a father's grace, Teleports away, from destiny's embrace. Rose, burdened by fate, seeks to atone, Yet companions stand firm, not to face fate alone. Ulara's secret, Rose's immortal shroud, A choker's magic, in time unbowed. Zeig's knowledge, a mystery untold, Seals' locations, in cities old. Dart's forgiveness, revenge's end, With Rose, a journey to mend. Magic city's invite, a Wingly's gaze, Courage's trial, in the heart's blaze. Seal's guardian, a clash untamed, Zieg's reveal, the signet's claim. Law City's law, rewritten anew, But thwarted again, by Zieg's ensue. Mayfil's spectres, of battles past, Friends' spirits rest, peace at last. Signet's path, to Zieg they race, A showdown awaits, destiny's embrace. Dart's charge, met with might, Seals shattered, in Zieg's sight. Shana's fate, on the moon's crest, As Zieg's true form, stands the test. Melbu's return, a sinister plot, Possession's game, in shadows sought. Divine intervention, in dragon's might, Warriors stand firm, against eternal night. Unified, they fight, for life's grandeur, Dart's shield, a love's tenure. Rose and Zieg, in final stand, Together they fall, fate's reprimand. World's fate shifted, by sacrifice's grace, Moon's demise, in destiny's embrace. Drift apart, their paths now sewn, New beginnings, in futures unknown. Hashel returns, to teach and guide, Miranda finds solace, by virtue's side. Meru finds love, among humans fair, Albert, king, in royal heir. Dart and Shana, their journey begun, In Seles' embrace, a new day's sun. Building anew, a village's reprieve, In love's embrace, they dare to believe. In the year of '99, Sony's grand display, The Legend of Dragoon, a tale to convey. A high-budget RPG, adventure untold, In Playstation's realm, its story unfold. Yasuyuki Hasebe, the director's chair, Crafted a journey, both thrilling and rare. Sold thrice as much in the land of the free, A tale of heroes, in a land by the sea. Turn-based mechanics, with combos in fight, Precision in timing, to conquer the night. 3D models dance on 2D's stage, In battles fierce, where legends engage. Dart, our hero, a sword in his hand, Beside him, companions, a valiant band. From village to kingdom, their journey extends, As they face foes, and make loyal amends. Seles, once peaceful, now torn by the storm, Imperial forces, seeking to deform. Shana, the key, to the empire's plan, In Hellena Prison, their rescue began. With Lavitz, a knight, with honor so true, They break free from chains, their courage renew. Together they venture, through caves and through fire, Their bond ever stronger, their spirits aspire. As the story unfolds, mysteries arise, The Black Monster's shadow, 'neath darkened skies. Secrets of the past, intertwined with fate, As heroes unite, to defy their state. Dragoons awaken, with powers untold, Their spirits alight, as battles unfold. Through forests and deserts, they press on with might, Their destiny beckons, in the cover of night. With each victory won, and each loss they endure, Their resolve grows stronger, their spirits pure. For the fate of their world, lies in their hands, As they journey forth, through distant lands. But darkness looms large, as Lloyd takes the stage, With schemes and deception, he fuels his rage. Emperor Diaz's plan, a world to renew, But at what cost, they cannot construe. In the heart of the conflict, heroes stand tall, Their bonds unbreakable, against evil's thrall. For in unity lies, the strength to prevail, And in their hearts, hope will never fail. So let the Legend of Dragoon, forever be told, Of heroes and villains, of courage bold. For in the annals of time, its legacy will last, A timeless epic, from the distant past.
Just got the platinum trophy recently along with beating Faust. Additions were much harder than I remember...I must be getting old. Meru/Albert team OP.
It was nice to hear this song play out at the end. Yet the coolest was hearing this play on the radio, the full version, AND they gave a shoutout to Elsa Raven and the game by name. 😁
Most beautiful game I ever played People who ask for a remaster are just not satisfied with the masterpiece that it was. It doesn't need a remaster. Leave it as it is.
Been years since I played this game....great graphics for the day, a neat combat system ( though I suck at timing so I swore a lot at every miss ), I enjoyed the story and characters, and the music was fantastic. If they ever pull their thumb out I hope it's a remaster and not a remake because it's only the graphics that need a touch up, everything else is great the way it is. Not sure how they'd do a sequel since the story wrapped things up pretty neatly. Unless they went the way the Lufia games did and have the sequel technically be a prequel
Source: vocatranslations.blogspot.com/2011/03/black-executor.html?sc=1700329197739#c7552892984895173852 The only translation I found of the song (this source is a bit wrong, I have therefore changed it a bit) for future reference: (the text between <> are lyrics which Kagame Len whispers) The saint who increased humanity and protected the weak, <Haughty superiority; Smothered common sense>, In a differentiated society, everyone has crazed eyes, <Fastidious nervousness ;full of contradictions>, Look at it. Justice that the street threw up, Remain for us, What do I need to choose out of the choices I have, So that I can be right? <Is it good? Bad? There's no meaning anyway> I was watching the errors of emotions, Your voice that's in pain, We who are melting - what colour will we be reflected as? What did the executor, With that judgement see? I wore black and kept on judging white, <I repressed my emotions and lived in silence>, Everyday without change; what even is right or wrong? <I couldn't throw away unnecessary things and kept on embracing them>, It's incomprehensible. Where is the discipline of this noisy street? What did they die for? <You and everything will just disappear someday> The pulse that doesn't stop ringing gradually stopped that morning, Even that sound of the crying you, The memory of that day, I keep on asking for forgiveness, What did the executor, WIth that judgement know? I was watching the errors of emotions, Even that scar of my pain, Will heal someday, The continuous confused scenery continues in a monochrome way, Even this voice of the crying me, Will someday reach, The wish of the girl who wanted to stay strong, Is the happiness of that day. Now, Gathering the broken pieces, The girl leaves. I don't speak Japanese, I corrected from my point of view of the song, so it's probably a bit better than the other translation, but still wrong...
I played this in 2000, I was 19 year old. lol I'm 42 now, I still have the hardcopy and play it more or less every 2 years or so. If they ever remastered this game, or made a prequel to the story with Melbu Frahma, or made even a follow up of Dart and company's story I would buy the game and the associated console required to play it (I'm pretty much exclusively a PC gamer now). PLEASE remake this masterpiece or build on it further. It was such a great game.
It’s funny how I can’t forget a man who showed me this song. I love this song since the first time I heard. Until now I still can’t forget him and this song always reminds me of him. It’s been over 2 years. I don’t understand how a man who hurts me, never leave or get out from the deepest of my feelings. It’ll always be my favorite song and I’ll always wish you a happy life. I miss you.
