That’s not near enough plow for that tractor. The Ford 130 was a great plow. The 806 needs at least four bottoms.

What made you down size in heads when you upgraded? Looking for a flex head for my 1420 wasn't sure if I wanted to buy a 17 1/2 ft or go with a 15 ft..
@moonfarms2357
@moonfarms2357 2 года назад
We don't have as many acres as we'd like so a smaller head lets me stay in the field longer LOL. No actually it comes down to convenience for us we have a few narrow places to get through and though the 17 and a half foot head did fit it just makes it easier and quicker to get around on the farm with the 15-ft head not having to worry about taking it off the machine at all.

@@moonfarms2357 I see thanks for the Info an that makes sence!👍 We'll be running approximately 200-230 acres corn, soybeans an wheat thru a year and it all depends how much custom work I get drug into from there. 😆

Thanks Moonfarmer, especially for including some technical close-ups. Running my crude John Deere 965 I'm a bit envious of you 1400 guys :-) But it also made it throught the past season again. If you can make the time, after returnig it to the shed, to compile a little 'walk around' the machine with some construction, handling or setting details, would be nice ,too. 1420 are very rare around here in Germany! Many greetings from Frankfurt!

Why do you plant exactly 2,020 soya beans is that worked out by computer for the area you’re planting in to maximise output? Does the tractor have auto satellite steering?

Dear Moonfarmer, Im excited for the 2020 update, too! Maybe you can help me with a question - I know the rotor has a different size in the 1440. But are the shilouettes of the machines different too, or is it only the tires and maybe the crop tank extension. I realized it is much easier to find a 1440 in Europe than the 1420. Thanks! Bernhard
@moonfarms2357
@moonfarms2357 4 года назад
Bernhard, the 1440 is wider also, the 1420 has there augers under the rotor, but the 1440 has four augers like the 1460. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for the next video of the 1420.

We have two 574 tractors, a row crop set up just like yours, and a utility. We farmed tobacco as well. In my opinion, these are some of the best, most versatile tractors ever made.

Nice-looking 574. I grew up on a 674 one size larger than yours, a very good tractor and a very good engine. Dad traded it in on an 884 because that had a torque amplifier, but I miss that 674. I would buy it back if I could find it.

Good day They are a nice tractor. Back in 80's we had 1 on farm. I kept it to blow snow. They are a hard starter in winter. 2 hrs. plugged in block heater, good to go. Those back tires are they off combine. I need different ones, don't want to buy new ones. Thanks I live in Ontario
@moonfarms2357
@moonfarms2357 5 лет назад
Don, yes it's a great tractor, this one starts fine year round, even without vitamin E. Yeah they're combine tires and wheels, I made centers for them for this hub, we did that for top dressing wheat.
