I completed my university in 2010 . Do you think that there is a possibility to win the case after the court hearing … I am single now for a reason ( had a relationship for 7 years this is why I did not move to other European countries ) and it’s a simple application . Proposal for Establishing a National Student Council (NSC) and Recommendations for Institutional Reforms Dear Bangladeshi Students and My Fellow Citizens, I extend both congratulations and heartfelt condolences to all students and the nation for all the sacrifices you have made recently and the great victory you have achieved. However, victory can be fleeting if we do not learn from history. In light of the current challenges, I propose the creation of a National Student Council (NSC) to serve as a dedicated body representing the voices of students across colleges and universities, while advocating for the prohibition of party-affiliated student politics in these institutions. The proposed NSC would function under the following guidelines: 1. Internal Governance and Elections: The NSC would conduct its own internal politics and elections to appoint leaders and committee members. This process would ensure that student representation is truly reflective of their interests. 2. Policy Review and Recommendations: The NSC would observe and review various government policies and activities, providing informed recommendations for policy changes to the Parliament. 3. Parliamentary Representation: It is recommended that four seats in Parliament be reserved for representatives elected by the NSC. These representatives would be eligible for election in the year following their graduation from college or university. 4. Parliamentary Consideration: Policies that receive majority support from the NSC should be brought forward for discussion and voting in Parliament. 5. Constitutional Reform: I propose reconsidering the current constitution, which has historical ties to the British colonial framework. While the British constitution serves its people, we should evaluate its applicability to our nation. We might consider studying the American constitution, which was drafted post-liberation and offers a robust system of checks and balances. Adapting its principles could prevent the need to reinvent foundational governance structures. 6. Term Limits: To promote healthy democratic practices, term limits should be imposed on all elected positions, from village councils to the presidency. No individual should serve more than two four-year terms, and immediate family members should be ineligible for the same position for at least eight years following their relative's service. 7. Judicial Term Limits: Implementing term limits for judges is also recommended to ensure ongoing judicial integrity and accountability. 8. Anti-Corruption Measures: Proven cases of bribery should result in a minimum sentence of 10 years imprisonment. Furthermore, individuals possessing wealth exceeding 2 crore should be required to provide a transparent account of their wealth's origins, or voluntarily contribute it to a government fund. Failure to justify wealth should result in its forfeiture to the state for the greater good. 9. Education Reform: Education at all levels-schools, colleges, and universities-should be free of charge. Additionally, party affiliation should be banned for all government employees, educators, and professors during their tenure and for four years post-employment. Any violation of this policy should result in a minimum of five years imprisonment. 10. Police Reform: The Bangladesh police should be decentralized. Each upazila should form its own police department and small police force recruited from the local population. These officers would have no connection with other police departments and would not be transferred from one upazila to another. This approach aims to foster a stronger connection with the local population and encourage greater empathy towards their own communities. The Deputy Commissioner (DC) would have the authority to call in police forces from other upazilas only if the need for additional reinforcement arises. 11. Education System Competitiveness: The Bangladesh education system should be reformed to reintroduce a competitive spirit, similar to previous systems. Every student should be ranked based on performance, but not solely by the GPA system. I believe these proposals can contribute significantly to the development of a more equitable, transparent, and accountable governance system. I deeply regret that I could not directly participate in the recent struggles of the nation, particularly those led by our children and students. It has been heart-wrenching to witness the suffering of our young population, and I have shed many tears over their plight. Thank you for your attention to these matters.
