I urge everyone to not buy this brand. They are horrible. Tried instaling a ball stop tub drain and after 4 different kits ill go with another brand. All kits were faulty pr missing parta. Horrible
It does come off but I had to cut my pex and take it to a vice to do it. If you're looking to do it inline - good luck - push away from the pex going toward the body of the valve and I hope you have some sort of hydraulic device to help you.
These 1/4 turn valves suk. The handles are made of cheap, flimsy plastic and although they may work fine upon installation, as the valve sits unused for a couple of years, the elements of water cause it to become slightly more difficult to turn. The plastic handles cannot cut the mustard and they snap with minor resistance.
this jerk blocked off disabled street with his commercial vehicle parking it while going on holidays ,,ambulance could not get into 5the close because vehicle blocking street ,, kind person blocks off disabled p[arking area with his van so he can go on holidays
Would not recommend this product from Ace. Two problems: 1. instructions tell you what to do with certain parts without anywhere (in the instructions or in the box illustrations) identifying which specific parts those names referred to. 2. The rubber washer supplied for the bottom of the fill tube did not fit the tube -- it wouldn't slip over the tube (as necessary to allow the tube to protrude through the hole in the toilet tank bottom -- because the washer had a closed center, with just a few small holes in it. It does NOT look like the washer in the video, which is open and easily fits over the tube. You'd have to do some precision work with an Xacto knife to make the washer fit (and hopefully seal). I had to re-use the old washer, which was decaying but luckily fit.
I just purchased this one. I ended up cutting the opening on that rubber washer with some scissors. It then slipped over the fill tube. You're right, this is not mentioned in the instructions. This video was helpful.
Same y’all, I found it confusing that they didn’t explain you have to cut the rubber o-ring. For the first time doing this it was stressful because you don’t want to mess up! Also, did anyone else find the voice in this video extremely condescending? 😂
The video is even worse than your "instruction sheet included". Are there not any employees, associates, etc that can add some reading or listening material to the pictures. The art is great but not everyone needs to have someone "draw them a picture" in lieu of plain 'ole literature.
I've just built a house and had the brick put on, I've wound up with a pex pipe stubbed out of a concrete wall with brick. What would be the best way to install the outside spigot to the pex since there's no movement allowance?
That plumber was obviously taking too long to glue and is purposefully taking so long so he can make it look bad, the insta plumb will fail as quickly as they are installed.
Lol, I thought the same, but, I think if you look at some of the other keeney videos, they used the same opening to demonstrate their other products (which most likely hacked up the wall) before finishing off with this one, that requires the 2 holes drilled.
@@shawnphillips1220 Yes you can but if you have a major leak finding a wrench may take time. The only possible replacement I have found is at a do it right center but there are none of them nearby. Online shows a picture of a metal replacement but doesn't show the back of the handle. I may look into it further when I go out of town. Good luck
@@edwardthomson7285 I tried taking the handle off. It's stripped but I still can't turn it with a wrench. I'm afraid to actually put a lot of strength into it. I'll probably just shut off my main and swap it out. If you turn off main water supply does that stop both hot and cold?? I have a hot water heater and was hoping I do t have to drain it first.
@@shawnphillips1220 To be safe turn off the power to the water heater so it doesn't become a bomb-it is good to flush out the water heater occasionally to remove scale if you have hard water. I am not a professional! Just things to know about.
Got for pex, does not work as advertised. Hose doesn't not stay in place, it blows right off regardless of how well seated it is. Don't waste your time/money
The guy who flipped our house before we bought it did not do this fitting for the toilet. So I have ugly blue PEX shoved out of the floor. Does a snap together or hinged tube like this exist?
I had a similar issue in a cabin. Try something like this... www.amazon.com/Plumb-Pak-K857-20-Flange-Copper/dp/B07MQY3CSC/ref=pd_sbs_469_4/132-8812661-4023128?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07MQY3CSC&pd_rd_r=77da21fc-e590-4212-a39e-d135e8fceafd&pd_rd_w=fnp6Z&pd_rd_wg=gX2Nt&pf_rd_p=d28ef93e-22cf-4527-b60a-90c984b5663d&pf_rd_r=DC5T0TK990R1HRR3BEA1&psc=1&refRID=DC5T0TK990R1HRR3BEA1
I have been fighting to install plumbing on a commercial sink for days now apparently none of the people I talked to know wth they are talking about, you just did in 2 minutes what 2 big box stores and a local plumbing store couldn't
If you have to run to the basement to to turn off the water before you can 'turn off the water' to an over flowing toilet than what's the purpose of you product?
Garbage how to video, you should always nut your bolts to the flange before putting a toilet down. Did anyone else see that the bolts were still loose after the caps were snapped on. Plus you should always use a rubber or plastic washer when tightening down a metal nut onto porcelain.
I am now experiencing the same problems with slow, constant filling of the tank from the Keeney Mini Fill Valve reported by many others. The valve appears to perform normally at install but listening closely one can hear the slow running of water through the valve. Shutting the water off at the supply valve at the wall stops the leak. I’ve replaced the valve three times, foolishly I suppose, thinking that I had just purchased a lemon. It now appears that ALL of Keeney’s Minit Fill Valves are lemons. All four that I have purchased in the last 12 months have exhibited this slow fill-valve leak, continuously filling the tank to the overflow pipe. I also note that the company has removed the warranty on the product that was offered a decade ago. There’s your sign. THey KNOW they are supplying a large percentage of defective units. I’d say that they are a prime target for a sizable consumer class action fraud suit. If any lawyer wants to initiate this, I’d join!
I have a Keeney quick-lock angle valve that does not completely turn off the water supply. Can I just use the ball assembly from a new valve to replace the faulty one? There is no space left to prep the pipe for another installation without extensive re-piping. Thanks!
Replacing the whole valve is the only thing i can think of. Online shows a replacement metal handle at Do it right center but doesn't show the back . There are no Do it right around me. Good luck
