Until you learn to use the physical processing units in conjunction with the abilities to discern, reason and understand. In order to process information into knowledge. Consciousness is previous and present knowledge stored. We receive information through the senses. Process the information using our abilities, into knowledge. Transmit the knowledge to the rest of our species. When talking of the mind esoterically. You are talking in terms of the hermetic statement.. as above, so below. The lower consists of the physical universe, the mental planes and the astral planes. This is the lower mind densities and dimensions of which there are many. These are known in terms of spiritual/Occult doctrine as the mental planes. The mental planes are not referred to as the mind or the Astral planes. The mental plane is the abode of thought forms of which there is too much knowledge on the subject to type here.. Try reading Annie Besant's book. on thought forms. The higher mind consists of the lower and higher astral planes and the Elysian realms. Again, of dimensions, there are many. To access the higher realms you have to be a unified and knowledgeable being. You can access the higher realms on the strength and to the limit of your consciousness/ knowledge. All corruption prevents access to the higher dimensions. You need your wings luv! You have to be an ascended being. The Astral realms are the ancestral abodes which is what Jesus was talking about when he stated that in his Father's house ( Father meaning the universe) there are many mansions. There's the soul, the spirit, and the body. L'âme, l'esprit et le corps. The soul is all our identity past and future. The spirit is the link between us the living and God, the breath. The body is the test experience of our time on earth. We can lose the body and keep the spirit and the soul. We can lose our soul and keep the body and spirit. But to lose the spirit is total darkness.

I believe he would reply we do not have the experience of causing something but just the experience of certain mental states being regularly followed by an action. In my opinion, the belief in existance of causality is pretty much in the same situation as the rejection of the solipsism- it cannot be proven correct but it must be assumed to allow us make sense of the world.
Here is the missing piece of the functional explanation on rain dance: people do not question beliefs which benefit them. And social cohesion is a benefit. That does not remove the intentionality from the explanation. But the social stability is still important part of it too.
