Remember in the event someone collapses in a confined space immediately call 911 and even if you understanbly want to rescue the person and istinctly want to go in to rescue them even if they are a fellow coworker or close friend or family member unless you are properly trained or equipped to handle it do not enter the confined space in an attempt to rescue them and if you are not trained or equipped to handle the situation leave it to the trained and equipped professionals such as first responders or trained and equipped co workers and rescue teams. The last thing that you want is too become an additonal victim therfore making things worse. If someone collapses in a confined space always assume that there is either a.poisonous gas or a lack of oxygen in the space until proven otherwise as while you may think that the person may have had a heart attack or fallen into the confined space you never know as for all you know there may be a poisonous gas or a lack of oxygen in the space that caused the person to collapse and could put you and others in danger. Tragically these deaths could have easily been prevented had the rescuers had proper training and equipment to handle the situation. Remember a unplanned rescue will probably be your last.
