Yall I know this might sound crazy but she was my coach and I loved her so much she was the best and so fun!!!! Now I cry every night abt her - Sophia (aka me)
A class act on and off the court. He has a full skillset - defensive player of the year but great at distributing the ball and not turning it over. Aggie Nation is proud to call him one of ours!
Terrell and Hale are great Aggies! I'm glad we get to see them in Blue-and-White one more time, and I'll watch Hale in the Hula Bowl and hope both of them get opportunities to play at the next level!
What an awesome VICTORY! Proud of the Aggies! Extra proud of our son #12 getting that interception at the end of the game on that Colorado sideline! 10 toes down inbounds! #GoAggies! Bring on the Bulldogs!
Also the announcers were the most immature disrespectful callers I have ever heard. Purposefully miscalling names at our players and calling our team the “dookies” repeatedly through the game. And WTH is even JMYU?!?!?!?! They kept calling JMU JMYU?!?! Like seriously???????
Mic up the people asking questions. Or have a mic at the front of the room and request they approach the mic to ask a questoin. Or ask coach to restate the question. How do you not get this right?
Seems like a quality hire. Maybe a starting point & she alluded to it, but please up the game of our marketing. We have no dedicated news, podcast, or radio station. Merch &/or advertising does not exist south of Logan, let alone other states. Nobody cares about us. Even this RU-vid channel is dead. Also, please for the love of God don't let us get left behind in conference realignment. Do those 2 things & I'll be happy
Coach A's comments would be more meaningful if I could hear the actual question. Same applies for post-game interviews. Surely roving mics could be provided.
The combination of medical training and the prayers of righteous men like Mr. Bovee and Coach Anderson saved a young man's life. I hope he goes on to have a great Aggie career, but even if he doesn't play a down, he'll be a great advocate!
The mark of a great coaching staff is resiliency in adversity. Talent at the FBS level is fairly equal within conferences (any MWC team can beat any other team on a given day), but it's the ability to play hard through adversity that marks champions. (One of the reasons Boise State is the program that it is largely comes from their ability to handle adversity, in my opinion.) Coach Andersen, Coach Banda - the whole staff - they keep the players focused on the goals, and determined young men like Hale Motu'apuaka and Calvin Tyler Jr. are gifted athletes who are learning fantastic life lessons through their efforts, and the Aggies' program is in a great spot as a result.
I'm glad Coach Anderson reminded us of mental health awareness. I have lost a brother and a nephew who took their own lives, and I am aware of what it does to families (although I can only imagine what it does to a parent). Birthdays and holidays are the worst, especially the first one. It takes courage to share it publicly, and I'm glad he's trying to help others.
Anderson is just an ok coach. I t.hink we need to get the right coach after this year of Anderson blaming the fans is going to be his demise at Utah State. If Utah State don't get a bowl, I feel like we need to look for a better coach to put Utah State back in the competition with the mountain west
I'm not sure what you're basing that on. Last year, the Aggies went from 1-5 and a program in disarray (a lot of talent had left the program, there was the controversy over not hiring Coach Maile, etc.) to 11-3 and winning a huge bowl game over a Power 5 opponent (the second victory over a P5 last year). This year, in spite of numerous injuries to significant players, the loss of nearly all the receiving corps from last year, using 4 different QBs, and some tough losses, the team is unified and playing hard (and getting better each week). in this presser, he mentions how many players have started their first game. That's the mark of great coaches throughout the staff that will keep the focus on the game and teach the players how to improve week-to-week. As for the "blaming the fans" comment, he is not blaming fans for losses. He actually CREDITED fans for the Air Force win. What he called fans out for was the booing of Bonner (who led us to that 11-3 record last year) in the Weber State game. He has always taken accountability for what happens on the field.
Thank you Paula! Wayne and I talked about a lot of things as we sat together during the first half of the Freshman game and then as we dressed for our game. He told me about his numbness and lack of feeling and I sent him to Jim Railey, (Rails) our Trainer. He did as I had done, punched Wayne's shoulders and arms, pinched him, and looked puzzled. He took him to Coach Andersen (Ladell) who went through the same punching and pinching routine. Then as we were about to go onto the floor to begin the game he said to Ladell, "I think you should start someone else, I don't think I can help..." Coach answered, "Without you out there none of us will know how to play" A few years ago I was invited to the annual Utah Sports Hall of Fame dinner and meeting where they added Wayne to their Hall. I asked the President why they did that because their documents limit it to athletes born in Utah (Wayne was from Montana) and he said in effect, "We all agreed that his life and play was just too good to leave him out." Utah's best Sports Reporter had looked at the game shooting charts and determined that if the three-point rule was in effect in Wayne's years, instead of averaging 33 points per game, he would have averaged about 45 points per game. Paula, you and I and most of the Aggie student-body knew Wayne was at least as good a man as he was a ball player.
Deven Thompkins will always be an Aggies legend not only for his own talent - and he has an excessive amount of it! - but because he inspired others around him and made them better with his leadership. Any NFL team that drafts him will be better off for having him.
