How are they holding up? Are the zip ties still holding the fog lights in place? Great video. Appreciate you making this. - This is like the only video on how to do this.
I know this is an old video but it’s a Great video and well explained. I recently purchased a super duper base model 2015 Fusion SE 2.5L. Basic as hell lol but low miles for a great price from an elderly neighbor of mine. 4inch basic ass screen 😂 with no fog lights 🙄 no window tints no nothing just basic 🤣 Nicest thing on the car was the unscratched black paint and an immaculate black interior 😊… Had the car 4 months and I’ve been all over eBay and Amazon looking for affordable mods. Found this fog light setup, harness and switch. I literally just got done with installation and all went well with the help from your video. I didn’t order the OE Harness or Switch but I will be soon just to clean it up a bit and make it look nice! Thanks man
I'm not sure what the benefit of this swap to a kia cylinder head aside from being dohc vs sohc, if this is being turbocharged then completely understand, but if N/a then wasn't aware of kia making some serious air flowing cylinder heads, I'm in to all types of engines personally I'm a Honda guy and very into N/a power, and guessing this head swap gives significant gains in hp, being displacement of bottom end delivers torque? Very interesting what kia is cylinder head from
Dohc head flows more then the Sohc so it makes more power. Both Na and turbo builds will benefit from a higher flowing head. Plus the Dohc has off the shelf cam options available
Congrats. My dream car was gt500 as well. My dream came true in June as I purchased a 2010 gt500 convertible in sterling grey metallic with white stripes. I never thought it was possible but with hard work and a loving understanding wife it came true. My story was the same as your and I bought it in your home state of virgina. They delivered it with in a few days of purchase. I am not an attention seeker but this car draws a lot of attention.
Does checking stretch mitigate the chances of spinning bearings? How could you check a stud for the mains to ensure you’re not over doing it? Ive had nothing but trouble with bearings previously
Sort of. Rod stretch is a more accurate way to verify the clamping force on the bearing. It removes the variances in torque wrenches and the bolts themselves.
GALANT FATHHHHAAA, great breakdown 👍 Also, if anyone is looking to go this route, I'd highly suggest picking up a spare long block as well. It doesn't have to be built but with pushing these motors this hard, its inevitable that it'll break at some point. Having the spare on hand will reduce downtime and get you back running in weeks as opposed to months trying to source everything.
Its crazy how things add up. But great info. If you want to play you have to pay. In the grand scheme of things the machine shop work is cheap in comparison to everything but gives the confidence behind some ones expertise.
I feel your pain man. Rebuilding my engine and transmission for my 4g63 project. Now I understand when people don't want to talk about the cost of their project cars.
Great job. You can also use bolt on full set from right hand drive MITSUBISHI DIAMANTE as well. Here in Russia its easier to find diamante set, than 3,0 gt eclipse cuz of Japan closeness. It has ventilated rear disc and double piston front caliper with 294мм brake disc. Did this to my 2003 Stratus coupe. Wish you big luck.
