I am thinking to move there to but i affraid how i am going to get a job as an engineer who worked for automotive industry still i speak 6 languages. So manybe something in the tourist branch haha.

I'm glad to see you doing better. Theodore is getting so big 😊 Thank you for sharing. I had thought about moving that direction, but I've heard it's extremely expensive and I live in the US so that's saying something lol. Take good care of each other.
@travellingroots just wanted to add. I'm planning a trip to nicaragua Jan 2025 and will hopefully be staying in Rivas. If you don't mind me asking, how did you find your rental?
That's really great! Have you been before? How long are you going for? If you want long term rentals then Facebook market place or word of mouth is the best way. If its short term then you're probably better off with a booking site or hotel.
@travellingroots good morning or whatever time it is there, lol. I haven't been there before. If all goes well, I want to stay for at least 3 months so I can get an actual feel for the place. The house is being rented by expats at the moment :) it's in Rivas on the road towards LA Virgin. The electricity is included because the utility company hasn't installed a metre

First, let me say your family is very nice, and your child is the cutest ever, (and he will have some great experiences and be blessed by them!) so please don't take what I am about to say in the wrong way. You said: "If you are using a real estate agent out here, you gonna be paying higher prices.." For the most part you will encounter so-called real estate agents only in the areas you are talking about as well as Managua. There is no MLS in Nicaragua. There is no Real estate certification, exam or qualification in the country. You are being robbed by middlemen who have cleverly played on your experiences in the US, UK, etc. believing you need one. 100% wrong. ANYONE can say they are an agent, and a lot of people maintain this. You only need a lawyer to keep everything legal. The end. SJDS is Gringolandia with Gringo prices and catering to people wanting to live in Nicaragua but not at all like Nicaraguans in my opinion. First place is very nice, but too expensive, period. I could never live in a gated expat community, with private schools, private doctors, etc. If you are trying to make Nicaragua as much like the US or UK to feel comfortable, you moved for the wrong reason - IN MY OPINION. The house in Rivas is nice... Furnished? Consider yourself very lucky.

Look for joe tippens protocol it works.... Do research, quimio won't help. Try intravenous vitamin C , after those mega dosis ( I did it in nicaragua, a lot cheaper )my pet scan showed that works !!! In my prayers 🙌
I remember doing that walk....pouring sweat because for some reason Nicaragua stamped me out but Costa Rica never stamped me in....so had to walk it twice....not far, but HOT N HUMID.
What a tragic end to such a brave venture. It was refreshing to see a young family seeking a different way of life away from consumerism. Hoping you will have a clean bill of health. We live in Canada and consider moving there. I just finished cancer treatment in Dec. Also a mom but my kids a bit older. Our lives were on hold for about 1 1/2 years. Be sure to follow up with the mental health aspect with someone who specializes in oncology therapy. That has become an enormous part of my healing journey moving forward. Take care!

OMG wow, that's not at all what I was expecting. That's so awful for you and your family, but thank goodness it is in remission and things are going okay now. Good luck with everything for sure. Nica hospitals are always of interest, especially Militar as everyone knows about Pellas and few realize that Militar is extremely good as well and no one ever sees it.
Hey Scott, thank you for the kind words of support. They are really lovely to hear. I can imagine it wasn't quite what you expected. We really love Nicaragua and will come back and visit once a year. But sadly, no chance of living there now. Maybe one day! We will look into doing a video on our experience at the Military Hospital. We were so lucky and had the BEST doctor, she was a female so worked really well with me as a lot of the male doctors were not as sensitive shall we say.

Thank you! It all happened so fast. Luckily we actually had our friend staying with us on a totally unrelated reason so he was there to help. We will visit again, but only for a short while. Sadly we need to be in the UK now permanently. Hope Costa Rica is nice!

I really feel so much sorrow to hear that. Some people from Europe got better during cancer therapy, I don't know if is because of the air in the mountains in Matagalpa, the food because food is mostly organic in Nicaragua. Hope you get better
