Ann sorry to bother you I seen on one of your videos you used Tounalker watercolor paper. I can’t find that video but was it ok to work on. I’m teaching and need to order watercolor paper. Thanks for your time. I love my Karatake paints
Lovely painting! I love Kilimanjaro paper too! Have you tried Cheap Joe’s Dreamcatcher brushes? One of my first watercolor teachers recommended those brushes and I do really enjoy them.
Hi there! Thank you so much💜 I haven’t tried the Dreamcatcher brushes but I do love their Miller’s Pseudo Sable. I’ll have to check them out! Thx for the tip!👩🏻🎨🎨
I’m so glad you love these paints! DaVinci is my favorite brand, and I think it’s probably the most under-rated professional brand. So nice to hear another artist rave about them! 🎨
As usual Ann, I found your video to be very informative as well as the great ability to cause me to chuckle along with you. I too suffer from my nut falling far from the tree!! 😂😂 Now I can steal your lining up the pans to paper idea - I felt so silly when you showed how simple it was, then chuckled right along with you. These two reasons are why I shall always enjoy your channel, always be proud to be a member, and always feel less alone with my awkwardly far away nuts 😂😘🎨🖌️👩🏻🎨💜 Off to watch the latest member video - I was fast asleep when this one and the member one came out. Enjoy your morning when it arrives, not to mention the all important ☕️💜
Coffee in hand and (so far) no nuts have fallen astray! I’m glad you liked this video-these paints are so interesting to use and this palette selection has me over the moon! Back to coffee-and finding some leashes, locks or some type of fences for all my prone-to-falling nuts😂
I would love to have that set of paint and some rice paper which is what it is designed to work with. It is designed for unsized paper particularly rice paper and I just love to be able to play with it that way
This paint is so versatile! It’s not like the sumi inks but it can absolutely be used on unsized paper. This is why I like it for crafters so much-for bullet journaling and card making the natural properties of this paint really create wonderful effects. 💜💜
I was just in Colorado and talked to a representative of the paint. It was really a great experience talking to him. I ended up buying the small 12 set. He was at an art store I went to. Also side note I love Colorado Springs.
@@artonthecreek that was the art store. Anne it was the best store ever. I blew my no buy. I really love that store they had everything I was looking for. I can see why you and your daughter love the springs. I’m hoping next time I’m Colorado I can meet and plein air with you. It would be so much fun. I got to plein at the garden of the gods and loved it. Way different than Ohio.
@jenniferdoyleart that’s wonderful, Jennifer!! You pretty much had one of my typical days!! I’m so happy you got to visit Garden of the Gods & paint! Such a treat!
Once these are dissolved in oms can I use oil based colored pencils over them? Alternatively can I use these ontop of / to highlight an oil based colored pencil painting?
Hi Felicia! I’ve used both wax and oil based colored pencils with Neocolor Is. You might want to experiment on scraps of paper - I would recommend trying different techniques on the paper you plan on using for your final project. I hope that helps! Thank you for watching and commenting! Enjoy working with your Neocolor Is!
I love the prompts you chose. I also own a vintage Sheaffer fountain pen. I bought it about 30 years ago. I enjoy using it. Thank you for sharing your World Watercolor month paintings.
JoAnne -hi! Thanks so much! I’m happy to know you’re experiencing a vintage fountain pen❤️ Glad you enjoyed this-we are half way through! Hope your July is going well👩🏻🎨☺️
Hi Sheila! You’re so welcome! I’m so happy you found this useful🎨😊 I have a playlist you might enjoy: ru-vid.com/group/PLR7d_Il9GxrThsbnRv_GECK7g3dVMpugK&si=IuJeh5s9_QH--49f
Those are awesome, Ann! I love them all, but especially your mermaid. The colors are gorgeous. I'd pay money to see you draw an athlete scratching, lolol. Too funny! I am having fun with World Watercolor Month too. This is my second time trying and I have only been painting with watercolors for a year and a half. I find digital art and acrylics much easier but watercolors are so much fun.
Hi Kat! That’s hilarious & thank you so much! I have to be honest I can’t get the image of how that athletic scratch watercolor would look completely out of my head!!🤦🏻♀️😂😂😂 I’m glad you’re enjoying WWM I’ve been playing with procreate a lot more-it’s really fun!!
Hi, I am a friend of Eskies, and she told me about your channel. I have seen the color cubes since I also enjoy adult coloring. I never thought to try them with watercolor. That is so cool.
Hello there! I’m so happy you’re here and that you enjoyed this video! The color cubes are incredibly versatile-I’m happy you enjoy using them while adult coloring!! Excellent ❤️🙌🏼
Great idea on the vitamin! I’m not one for consistency, so I’ve been drawing/painting mine in clumps too. In my watercolour notebook, I first wrote down all of the prompts for world watercolour month and July 2024 Urban Sketchers. It’s my first time doing either. Because I’m so new to art, and have little to no experience, I’m first sketching out the doodles with an 5H pencil, before painting it with watercolour (even though it’s the Urban Sketchers prompts). Depending on the drawing, I also go over the pencil with my Pilot CH92 M fountain pen, filled with Platinum Carbon Black (a waterproof fountain pen ink). Because it’s has a medium nib, when I use it normally (nib facing up) I get a regular medium line. When I use it upside down, it produces an extra-fine line, which is really nice to have variety, especially since the drawings in my sketchbook are 2cm x 3cm at most.
This is so wonderful!!! I’ve heard of the Urban Sketchers prompts but never participated. Now I will have to go check them out! Carbon Black Ink is one of my favorites-I use it in the fountain pen I have in my plein air kit. You’re absolutely right about turning the nib face up or down to vary line width!! I love that technique and use it often-easy way to vary your lines! Have a lot of fun this month and thank you so much for watching and commenting👩🏻🎨🙌🏼🎨🖌️
Congratulations Ann on continuing your World Watercolour Month journey. I love love love each and every one of your paintings. I can’t choose one above another. I am really enjoying the way you are tackling each prompt, and am especially loving your interpretation of each prompt. Thank you for taking the time to produce a video of each week’s collection. 👏🏻👩🏻🎨🖌️🎨🥰
The red of the raspberries makes me think of pomegranate seeds. I do like Sarah's color cubes and i have them. There is a channel creator on here who goes by Emma LaFebvre. She is amazing when it comes mimicking or matching colors with her professional Winsor and Newton paints. She can make any color at all with those paints. In my opinion there is no one better than her when it comes to color mixing. And she is a good artist.
@dianethoroughman9541 oh, my goodness no!!! I encourage everyone to learn from as many different artists and teachers as possible! The world is a big place-plenty of room for everyone 💙💙💙 Thank you for your added kindness, Diane. You help make what I do here very worthwhile-I always enjoy seeing your name in the comments!👩🏻🎨😊
Great fun Ann! I particularly loved Jack with his patch 🏴☠️ I really think the way you have decided to tackle this month is a fantastic idea. Not only can it save much time, not to mention paper, especially when 100% cotton is used, but you end up with very attractive vignettes that intertwine perfectly. Apologies for missing this video until now. Simply an oversight 👩🏻🎨🖌️🎨👏🏻😘
No need to apologize! I’m currently sitting in my living room trying to figure out how I’m going to tackle the next few prompts! Trying to put them all in one cohesive painting….hope you enjoy the next also! Thanks so much Anita 🏴☠️ ☠️👩🏻🎨
Hello! Thanks for watching and commenting; much appreciated ❤️ I honestly felt the same way about these initially-so pretty to look at but didn’t quite get the purpose. Now, I’m hooked! If you do get some I hope you enjoy using them! 🎨 🌈 ❤️
These cubes remind me of the WIRSIT INSPO posts on the Jamieson and Smith blog.... have you ever seen them? They take a photo of something in the Shetland Islands and match the colors from the photo with their (enormous) selection of shetland wool. In my ind, the idea then is to take one of the color sets and use them in a color work pattern. The final result is miles away from the original inspiration but the colors should work together beautifully...... I have one of their books; remind me to show it to you!
Actually I have seen them and I follow them on Instagram. At least I think it’s the same group-really beautiful wool created from the colors in a field of heather, for instance. Their photos like that are so pleasing to look at!!
Hellooooooo Toni!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️ I miss you we need to get together! I can show these to you before you buy if you like-I didn’t quite understand their value at first but now I’m totally hooked! Huge love to you & Roxy💕
Hi JoAnne! Thank you 🧚 😁 I have the Tombow markers, too-I use them primarily for lettering although they are a decent water-based art marker! I’ve never heard of the Nicecho-you’re right there are tons of options!
