I’m glad you love it! This bag was designed to be an easy project. We plan to add more bags with zippers and other options soon. I do think you could add a zipper closure if you are familiar with how to do that.
Great question. Some woven fabrics will warp or stretch out as you serge them. Sewing with a straight stitch prevents this, but you still want to be careful not to stretch it.
@@EllieandMacPatternsLLC what's funny is that's what I use to do all the time. But since sewing Ellie & Mac knit patterns and watching your videos I starting serging only. Thanks for the info!
This skirt is so pretty in that fabric! You said you'd done the rolled hem on the top of each tier by mistake (although I think it looks great!) - what would you have done if not a rolled hem?
If my edges are not showing you could do a regular serger stitch or a zigzag stitch. The top tier does not need to be finished until after attaching the waistband ❤️
That works too. The reason I do it after is because it can stretch the piece during that process. If I do it after my seam is in place, it cannot warp the shape.
This video was perfect. Thank you I have the same model and was able to quickly point out how to use. The other confusing part was getting to SS but it was on the far right (length) wheel at end. Thank you!
Do you have any suggestions for gusset fabric that would combine the stretch factor and absorbency? That would be so helpful- very nice video, thank you! ❤ 😊
It loos amazing on you ! Youve got that perfect tweeking to fityiu perfectly ! I wish that i could figure out what type of clothes would look good on my body type. Im an apple shaoe with absolutely no derriere to speak of but ny tummy & breasts are more than enough to speak of. So ive got t very few bottoms i can wear without the belly pushing them down to that perfect area on my barely there hips then the bottoms spide freely & its so embarrassing to have to hold all your things with olthe right hand while my left is trying really hard not to pul up my britches too far on that side untii get inside the grocery store, for example, then i grab a cart with as lopsided of a prayer promising god that i will make a promise to donate more of time with him for q few inches of butt so the other side of the lopsided prayer is begging him to help me keep ny panty color & type of panty they are a secret from anybidy who is within seeing distance to the rear of myself and if so i would ll slip a nice size dination into the local animal shelter donation house at every check out stand in the store. So to have your skills. Would be a dream come true ! Ive about given up my desire to sew my own clothes someday as i tried for about 3 solid years to get something sewn that is wearable for my weird body type hahaha even the really nice jumpsuit i made for my 43 year old daughter hangs in her closet real. Nice butshes not worn it since she trued it on. Its cute and she will agree that its cute, and still in the closet unless it .......(not) 😮😢 Sorry this ended up being a body image commercial , i just wanted to say its gorgeous and looks sooioo great on you. It really does ❤
Thanks so much for this tutorial ! Can't wait to try this out : ) . What is the kind of ruler that you have and where can I buy one - I have trouble finding one like that : (((.
About to try this with a jumper It’s a woven pattern but I have a minimal stretch knit that I want to try to use with it…oh and it’s self drafted off an existing garment …😊
Yes, I have wondered... because I have this really cute fabric of Paris street scenes in pink and light green and I want to wear it but didn't know how...this might work for me. Thank you!
Love the cuteness!! intrigued with how you did regular sewing on your serger. Do you simply omit threading the upper and lower loopers? Thanks so much.
Hi, there are many different ways to sew a pocket. A welt pocket is usually on the inside of the garment and has the flaps that I show on this video. It is different than a side pocket you just add at the seam.
It’s a retired pattern, but you can email customer service at hello@ellieandmac.com and request the pattern. We will invoice you for the retired price and add it to your account. 🩷
Hi Diana. I'm doing a copy cat on this. I was planning to use the Everyday Tee. I was wondering if you think the sleeves need to be shortened or if they will work as is? Thanks.
I made the top. What I need is a smidge more room in the sleeve..but the knit I used is really stretchy..so made the pattern change for next one. It is so dang cute. I'll post a pic in the FB group. Thanks for the reply ❤
The layers feature is on the Adobe Acrobat Reader program and the free version does include it. It’s located in the upper right side of the screen when you open the file. The icon looks like a stack of papers or rectangles.
Thank you for this tutorial. I find it difficult to find swim suits for me as I age. I have been searching for a swim suit tutorial and yours is very direct and now I have confidence to try sew one. I just need to find a swim dress pattern that I love.
It turned out Beautiful! I have a rayon panel print that I want to sew and this tutorial gives me hope! I suppose doing a facing for the armscye you could go sleeveless.
thank you very much fro this tutorial! I want to make a hoodie with cat ears, inspired by a cartoon character. I think stuffing ears a bit is a good idea :)
Great question! Fabric Recommendation: This pattern was designed to be made using mid to heavy weight fabrics. Fabric Options for the Outer Jacket may include, but are not limited to: Wool, Cotton, Jacquard, lightweight Denim, Corduroy or Raincoat Fabrics. Fabric Options for the Lining may include, but are not limited to: silk and silky like types of fabric or a nice lightweight cotton blend. We especially advise using a slippery fabric to line the sleeves
Ooh! Could you modify the pattern to make the flounce part a cover for a breastfeeding friendly dress/top?! I don't wear anything but v neck dresses right now, but sometimes I need/want something a little more modest for church.
