Thank you ❤️❤️ I'm obsessed with the I've cream one!! I was worried I was going too overboard with it when choosing fabrics, but I think it worked out perfect ❤️🙏
My pleasure and thank you for watching ❤️🙏 truth be told I'm one of those people who get confused by measurements so I need to see a finished bag to understand the size ❤️🤣
🤣🤣 always right 🙈🤣🤣 I've learnt to pause, breathe and say the line again without pausing the video now, editing time is more effort, but it doesn't disrupt the flow as much ❤️
Thank you so much ❤️ Isn't the Dr Who vinyl glorious 😍❤️ I got it from Fizgig and Fezziks in Australia (they're only available through Facebook at the moment, so go check out their Facebook page and Facebook group too), but they've also just announced that their next preorder round is going to have more of the Doctor ❤️🎉 I'm soo excited 🤣🤣
Fell inlove with the Travelnizer, made two so far and already thinking about my third! 😂 This one is really beautiful, love how its made! 😍 My next make for sure and I'm definitely gonna follow your tutorial on this bag to! 😍😄👍
Your explanation was very helpful and your video actually showed what you were doing. How you held the fold over elastic and the way you told how the elastic kind of went right into place was encouraging. Thank you! I’ve been looking for this type of video.
Thank you so much for taking the time and leaving a comment ❤️❤️🙏 happy sewing and I hope foldover elastic works for you too! It's honestly the best thing I've done for my binding game ❤️
I finished my bag and it looks terrific. I am having a problem deciding how long to make the adjustable strap. Jassie's cutting instructions say 31 inches but on the instructional page 27 she says 45"-60". I am giving this bag away and the person is a normal sized individual. What do you suggest?
Omg I'm so sorry! I didn't get any notifications for comments 🙈 I think it would depend on how they intend to wear it as the end user, I like to wear mine across my front or back across my chest, so I tend to make my straps 60" adjustable. For me, that's too long if I were to wear it as a bum bag though, so if you're not sure how they would choose to wear it, 50" might be a safer bet ❤️
Sorry my notifications haven't been coming through 🙈 Jassie had a few days off last week, but should still be responding to messages, let me send her a message in case she didn't see the messages ❤️
I am left handed as well and I have a preferred side to stitch on. When I HAVE to stitch in another way, I have a slightly difficult time doing it. Can't understand why but I'm glad to know there are others out there like me!
This is the first time I'm seeing your tutorial and it is amazing! I wanted to find out which fabric is the twill (yellow?) and which is the reddish orange fabric (Vibrant Vue?). I will subscribe!
Yep :) I use Twill for lining and for cardslots ❤️ I love it because it's waterproof but also not thick and wipe cleanable. It's especially good for bags that can get bulky because it's a little more forgiving then waterproof canvas ❤️ you also don't need to interface it either which I love ❤️
@@SamanthaErillant thank you! I want to get some, but I went to the website and they’re all out of the colors that I would want. Hopefully they get some back in stock soon. I would really like to try it.
Thank you for sharing your tips and techniques. I really appreciate it as I am soon to attempt my first wallet after sewing for 50+ years. I don’t know why I never tried it before but now seems to be the time.
You can :) it doesn't gum up the needle like some adhesives can, but if you have a domestic machine, I'd try to keep it out of seam allowances so that it doesn't get too bulky ❤️
Really appreciate you testing out the curve cutting!!!! That’s what I wasn’t sure about in terms of buying the templates. Thanks! One thing though….you probably know but just in case. These rotary cutters should really be used cutting away from you. So you are holding the cutter ergonomically as well. Like, hand above the handle like holding a steak knife. With the nature of the round blade, it can easily roll towards you if you cut the way you’re doing it now.
Thank you ❤️🙏 I've just had someone else message to tell me and I've just tried cutting it like a steak knife and it's soo much easier (and definitely feels much safer!) I didn't know about the cutting away from me bit though, so will definitely try it!!! Thank you for taking the time to comment ❤️
@@SamanthaErillant well, I always love your makes…a bit of a fan over here! So whatever will support you to continue making despite the nerve issue (booooo!! :( ), I’m here for it!
Wow! I love each one of these bags. I haven’t watched the video completely yet, but just by looking at all three of the bags, I subscribed. Now I will watch all of the video.
Oh no :( The Detachable straps is a separate pattern to the Sunniesleeve unfortunately. Definitely double check before you purchase, as it is listed as either one or the other pattern or the 2 as a set.
Thanks for the introduction to fold over elastic. Always wondered about items that had this mysterious finish but didn’t know what it was or how to use it. You’ve made me a convert!
Great video! I'm just starting to make some bags that use binding and my first two attempts were hideous.... they looked great before I turned the bag right side out... but after? YUCK! They were all twisted and loose looking, even though it looked perfect prior to that! It turned me off to making anything using binding! But.... I recently purchased a sunglass case that uses binding, after seeing people use fold over elastic and want to give it a try! But I have a question... when you are sewing and then placing the next section of elastic, do you slightly pull on the elastic so it'll be snug? Or do you just place it right over, without stretching the elastic at all?
Sorry I completely missed your comment 🙈 hopefully I'm not too late! So for me it depends on what material I'm sewing, so if I were literally just binding the inside and it's a pretty sturdy fabric, I like to stretch it a little so that it's nice and taut. But if it was binding for edging, for example a mesh pocket, I try to not pull on it too much because it'll stretch the mesh out of shape if that makes sense.
Yes it is inverted 🙈 I filmed this for a Facebook group a while ago but have redone the video where it is not inverted, you can find it under my channel.
Thank you ❤️❤️ This is the 201K, I've also been lucky enough to find a 201P as a backup machine ❤️❤️ but I just love my 201K, such a gorgeous machine and can sew through everything I've thrown at it so far ❤️🙏
@melissavalenzuela293 🤣🤣 yep they're such a rabbit hole 🙈🤣🤣 I've been really lucky that I've found both of mine on marketplace and both only needed some oiling ❤️🙏 I've a friend who has restored a few 201s from the garbage heap 🙈 I really want a featherweight but they're just sooo expensive 🙈🙈
Thank you so much for the tutorial! I loved seeing it sewn on the same machine I am using! (Can I ask where you got your teflon foot? I could really use one but have had a hard time finding one.)
Thank you so much for your comment and how gorgeous is the 201K❤️😍 I ended up getting my teflon foot off Aliexpress 🙈 Not going to lie, this was probably the 5th/6th teflon foot that I had to buy before finding one that actually worked 🙈 here's the link: (It's style 2 that I got) a.aliexpress.com/_mtUMzeA
@SamanthaErillant Inlove my 201 more than I could say. They are amazing machines! Thank you for the link. I've bought 3 teflon feet so far, and none of them work with my 201 or my 66.
