Thank you! I will use this vide to help my students. A tip to reset your viewing window: You can press the "2ND" key, then "MEM" for Memory. Then, select "Reset" and finally "Defaults." This can fix things that PlotsOff won't (e.g. if someone accidentally turned axes off).
I wanted to use the Quadratic Equation to solve: [8S^2 + 6S = -5]. I got the final answer of: -3 [+-] i [times the Square Root of] 31 [ALL over] 8. I got my calculator out & entered: "(-3+i[Square Root](31))/8" Then it gave me the answer of: [-.375+.69597054...] I have never seen the Plus Sign in an answer. What does that mean?
So how would one graph -5x^3+35x^2-45x-25>0 on a TI-83 Plus? We've entered it into "Y=" every which way and don't get anything close to what the textbook shows we should have seen. Help!
This is beyond the scope of this video but you would go to the far left of your y= after putting in y=0 and hit enter until it shows shading above the y= then you would enter the long equation part in the y= for the 2nd equation and go to the far left and move it until it is shaded below the y=. This will give you two shaded regions and the answer is the shaded part in the overlap. I don't have the time for doing another video but hope this helps.
Thank you, taught me a couple of things! Just want to add that there's a shorter way to check if you've got the correct X value. Just click TRACE right to the left of the GRAPH button and hit the suggested X value, it will then tell you the corresponding Y value 😉
Hi, this is Ethan Rivera's mom. Thku so much, for your heart for the Seniors & your prayers. May God's protective hand be upon your family as well. May we grow in our faith during these trials & be rooted in His love. God Bless ❤
It’s a win to see God’s goodness in Creation, I’m appreciating Him more in the little things as well, since I’m not around a whole bunch of busyness as I would be at college
Thank you so much K. Doughty! 5 years ago you published this vid, 5 years later I needed it. Nov 17 2018. Also this is a very good example. Thanks again!!!.
@@stevenscottoddballz Fancy seeing a new comment here but I gotta add that not everyone cares about grammar, especially not in a youtube video's comment section about a calculator.
