LOVE this song. I've experienced this song with many other gems live in Davis, Santa Cruz and Winters.. I NEVER got tired of seeing The Bobs. I miss them all.
JamesoBob here. Formerly of Santa Rosa. Love the Bobs. Thank you Richard! I remixed a classic of yours. I hope you like it. Peace! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MFBBsQB0HLk.html
I had the pleasure of working the ISOBOBS performance in Denver at the Paramount Theater, back in the day. Fun show. There was one scary part for me. On the second night, I had to make a physical tape splice at intermission when the band decided to change things up. Most frightening moment ever as a sound engineer, "Will the splice hold"? Thankfully, it did.
I also remember and totally loved this. There was a song "Welcome to my Fog" that totally captured one of our kids. We taped it but unfortunately I loaned it to someone and it got lost. I have been looking ever since. I tried the link someone posted a few years ago. The site existed, but I never got a response to my request to order. Now the site is gone. Someone please find it!
@@thedevilinthecircuit1414 - No, they are lip syncing/singing with the tape. You can tell bc the audio is identical to the album. Also, you can hear several different filters put on lead voice between lines sometimes.
You guys might now remember, but, at your last concert at the Iron Horse, during your retiring tour, there were three people who Brought colanders. I was the younger girl! :D You asked US for a picture, and told us to please put it on Facebook. I don't know if we did. I miss your music.
My first Bob song. I bought their CD twenty five years ago and still I cannot dig it completely: I understand that they ooze talent, that they are virtuoso comedians, that they do not include beat boxing as every seasoned a cappella group learned to do (the Swingles, Take 6, the Real Group etc.). They sound very convincing both live and on CD: what can I say? I appreciate them but there is something in their act that does not fit me. My fault.
THANK YOU . Have had a time finding this . Saw it on PBS 20+ years ago and the whole performance was wonderful. Does anyone now were I can by a CD of the original PBS show. It was literally a mind/life changing show. Hooked me on dance and a cappella . Hope to find a good cd for my nephew , he's young and it would be educational and FUN , for me too. Thanks again for the memory !
Ditto, I totally remember this. I saw the special at a time when I was just getting involved in choir and music, and one of my favorite bands was They Might Be Giants. The Bob's are so eclectic and have such an awesome sound! Thanks, interwebs, for catching me up with some memories!
Good memories! I, too, first saw The Bobs in 1990 -- magical. I've been out of the country for 25 years, and just thought of them for some reason. Now I have to go dig up the DVD that's filed somewhere, so I can relive 'the next door neighbor's sax', and others. Thanks for posting, Richard!
An appropriate encore. If I'd been there I'd have been waiting for it! They do the song justice. Go [the] Bobs! They need to play the HOB in New Orleans. I'd go!
Thank you for posting this. I used to play the original LP of this piece a LOT many years ago but had somehow forgotten about it ..... so sweet and funny. Brings back memories too.
