Hi and welcome! Welcome to my little corner of the great outdoors. I like being outdoors and enjoying the nature around me. If opportunity allows I'll stay overnight or just doing a dayhike in my neighburhgood. Sometimes I'll do the odd review or rant about something that is important to me at the moment, but mostly I try to cook good food outdoors. I hope I can inspire more people to go outdoors and have a good time. It doesn't have to be a struggle, on the contrary it should be relaxed and filled with joy.
So join me for a while and go out and find your own adventure, they start at your doorstep!

Wonderful video and looked like a delicious meal! I actually am prob in the minority and hate summer heat and bugs. I love fall and even winter too. Crisp, clean, fresh, beautiful, and the holidays too. I'm hoping to get time to get out this fall and winter more for hikes, campfires, and camping. Again great video and thanks for sharing. Marty from Minnesota U S.A.
Thanks Marty! Every season has its own charm for me but hiking is generally easier in summer over here. Our summer aren't that hot and the bugs aren't to bad with wome repellant avalible. If I forgotten the repellant the mosquitos do try to devour me though ;) Good luck with your outings in the coming seasons. Cheers!
Wonderful video! I am enjoying your channel. I also like to cook, especially outdoors, and sometimes it even tastes good lol. I love cool weather and thrive in fall and winter. I like your stove and it looks interesting. Is it an alcohol or wood stove? Anywho, great video and looks like you had a nice campout.
Thanks Marty! It was a good and much needed hike, wish that I'd manage more of them this summer year. My stove is a Trangia 25 alcohol stove, and it has been with me for more than 40 years. If you want more details I did a video about it some time ago: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VVtb0vAZrfc.html Cheers!
@@RedswedeOutdoors Thank you sir for the reply. Very cool. I don't have a Trangia but I have made a bunch of D I Y. alcohol stoves that work well too. It's fun to be creative and make different ones. That looks real nice and a good pot stand for kettle, pot, pan. Have a great day!🙂
I see you stew your coffee, I’ve also noticed Eric Normark ( Swedish) and Cimber Bushcraft (Danish ) also prepare coffee the same, is that a Scandinavian thing?
Before filter coffee became a thing over here I would say that everyone did it this way. Most people I know still think it tastes better but that filter coffe is more practical. Instant coffee is not an option for me, except in times of dire need if nothing else is avalible... Cheers!
Coffee on a foggy morning is very therapeutic. 😊 I have my coffee on the Willamette River in Oregon US from my kayak many mornings. I can hear the highway but it still feels remote and is only 20minutes from home.
Nice video! Just found your channel and liking it. Are you in Sweden? I am a little Swedish and alot Norwegian. We live in west central Minnesota, and I too enjoy hiking, bushcraft, coffee, the outdoors, etc. Again great video and I'll be watching more. Thanks for sharing! Marty from Minnesota, U.S.A.🙂
Thank you Marty and welcome to the channel! That's correct, I'm in Sweden. If I got things right there's a lot of people in Minnesota with ancestry from the Nordic countries. Cheers!
@@RedswedeOutdoors I too was in that situation for many many years. And thankfully you can blank it out. Beauty is beauty regardless and perhaps most importantly is where we focus our attention. Blessings my dear friend.
Looks like so many of my memories of Sweden. Hankering to return soon. This your video was a perfect antidote to my thinking, or over thinking about making videos. Indeed I was considering just such a video might be a good start but now you have beaten me to it. Let’s call it inspired me! Looking forward to more content and delighted you have found a balance in your work life.
Glad you enjoyed it. I'm more than happy if it can be used as inspiration. I'm surprised that this little snippet actually got such respons, maybe it can cure my over thinking too. All the best to you my friend!
This is the first time I have come across your channel and I enjoyed the tranquil location and the early morning coffee. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and wise words,we only gain this knowledge as we travel down the long path of life. Looking forward to your next journey.
Very much enjoyed this peaceful video. Got a chuckle about the elf. Beautiful place and such a great Misty lake. ❤ we had a hurricane here Sept 28...Helene. she DESTROYED north Carolina USA..AND quite a bit of Florida..now this coming wednesday..Oct 8. There is coming another..Milton. 😢 HE IS COMING RIGHT AT US..FLORIDA USA.. but all in all its been mostly ok. Wish I were at your peaceful lake with a coffee and a delicious hot snack. STAY SAFE SIR
I do look forward to - and enjoy our quiet little chats in the woods. I'm glad you are doing better, I was beginning to wonder. The highlight of my year didn't come until early September, when i got to spend 5 days alone in the woods. The most relaxed and content I've been in a very long time. I guess that's the message right there - for me, at least. Stay safe brother.
For actual use I´d go with the PFM 40 over the M44.SRO delivers good quality and I´d hesitate taking a collector´s item to the woods. In actual application the mini wins. It caters to most of my needs. If it´s too small I use one of the bigger Trangias.
I've never tried the PFM40 but I would guess that it's comparable in every way to the "original". I totally agree on the Mini and its larger siblings. Cheers Max!
a stunning and peaceful location for this one ; really nice and chilled. Thank you for sharing.ATVB form a sunny and increasingly wet Malaysia - our rainy season is just about to start
Nice to see you again Red. It was lovely catching up beside the lake with the mist rising off the water! Looking forward to seeing what you have in mind for next time.
What do you prefer the Mini's stand or the Triangle? Is the Triangle more wind-resistant? I know the Mini-trangia's stand nests while the Trangle is external flat separate. For just boiling water not cooking I use the Toaks Siphon the flame is narrower but no simmering, I place it on the ground and to extinguish lift triangle and put pot on for a few seconds.
The Trangia triangle is more wind resistant than tha mini´s stand. The simmer ring does not work well with it. If I had to choose only one, it would be the mini. As I have both, I decide based on what I plan for the outing.
Like Max I take the kit that suits my need for each hike. My present opinion is that I prefer to use gas with the Triangle, since the simmer ring is a bit iffy in it. I got a tip to get an extra ring to the Triangle for smaller pots and then I can't fit the simmer ring at all. Both are good for different purposes and both need a wind screen if there's anything more than a soft breeze. I might change my opinion when I played around with them a bit more... who knows? Cheers!
Great to see you again Red. Your not alone . My plans also went by the wayside for one reason or another. But I don't mind the rain and colder weather, so November is looking up for me to get out on my touring bicycle and enjoy some new sights and camping. Thanks for sharing it's always a pleasure to see you😊
Thank you Robert. Autumn has a special kind of beauty that lend itself well for filming, the rain however would wreck my camera so any videos will be made in somewhat fair weather for me. Hope you have lots of good outings in the upcoming season. Cheers!
Beautiful footage and music. Very soothing and a perfect start to the morning. Sounds like you made a wise decision. 😊 We all make plans, some work out, some do not. I decided last year to get into politics. Let's just say it was not one of my better decisions. Pretty terrible actually, which is a bit sad as I think we need more "normal" people with real life experience making decisions. At least a balance between the ones that has never done much else but being groomed into it from the start and the ones that taken a bit of a beating in life but keep on standing tall. Anyway, I still work to get my footing again, but it is going in the right direction. Thankfully I live in a very serene part of Sweden, with plenty of possibilities to just basically open the door to nature. Take care and be happy!
Thank you som much! Sad that things didn't work out for you. I agree that there should be more "ordinary" people involved in politics but it's not a friendly environment to navigate in for those not groomed in to it. Cudos for trying, most don't even care or dare to do that. Hope you recover soon, and as you say nature is a great place for healing. Wish you all the best!
That was a nice review. I own the kit and watched mostly for entertaiment value. The zip tie and the strainer are two unexpected take aways, I am totally shamelessly copying that. The sparula is nice too. I might make one for my kit. I got the kit mostly for the small size and weight.
Thank you Max! I did take the ideas from others so copy to your hearts delight. The comment section is a gold mine for ideas to make my gear better in ways I haven't figured out myself. Cheers!
I had my coffee with you Red. Nice little video. Glad you are getting the balance back. The human is supposed to work to live not live to work. My summer brought me unemployment, but I am only two years from retirement and we got a very generous redundancy payment so I will not be looking for work. I’ve done my shift and I’m thankful for good health and plenty of time to explore lakes and streams and hills for coffee spots. Any reflections on the Santiago?
Good to hear that there was a safety net for you Paul, so you can enjoy the extra time for your own passions. One of the great things with the Camino was that I had a lot of time to think about what to do and I made my mind up there on how to change things. My impression is that many use their walks for problem solving in addition to enjoy the views and company of fellow pilgrims. Cheers!
Now then fella. That looks like a good way to start the day. I'm glad to hear that you have been able to rearrange your life to suit yourself better. Sadly my summer plans are just a pile of bones on the beach, but ready for me to try again next year. My studies of morse code are progressing well though, so my hopes to use it for amateur radio Parks on the Air activation look hopeful. Enjoy the Autumnal colours and best wishes. Al
Thanks Al. Had to visit Wiki about POTA, but it seems like a fun thing that can combine well with the outdoors. Hope it comes out to plan for you. Cheers!
