I have a tall amethyst geode cathedral and noticed a few surface cracks on the outermost “crust” (not sure what the term is for the outer layer). What’s the best way to repair those? I don’t want to wake up one day and find that it’s broken apart.
When they remove them from the rock face they usually come out in peices and are then taken and put back together. They are the coated in cement to stabilize the piece and give them the flat base. My best guess would be to use a cement mortar mix to repair the crack. Once it is dried use a cement sealing paint to seal it well.
