The metaphor of a mole of atoms as a unit being like a dozen eggs as a unit is very helpful. They're both small things that it doesn't make sense to count individually. Makes more sense now. Thanks!
Thank you for this insightful presentation. I need some clarification regarding the direct and indirect methods. Are field-based LR methods classified as Direct or Indirect methods?
Thanks for the upload, very insightful overview of nutrient management :D There is a heavy emphasis on N though. Is a similar video also available for P management?
This lecture has really helped improve my comprehension of how soil microbes work. Would it be safe to say, that a decomposition layer rich in nitrogen at the surface of a garden bed, say one loaded with green mulch like grass clippings, would have higher levels of Nitrite, and thus should be avoided during the mid-late flowering period where Nitrogen isn’t as necessary for development?

I have alway heard that humic acid is a fungal food that it will grow and maintain a diverse fungal biomass....would that be different than humus itself in that regard? You mention that the microbes will get no nutrients from humus. Just looking for your insight, this was an outstanding class thank you.
If he is in Maryland why is his research measured in hectares instead of acres??? I don’t buy that he says there is more carbon in a organic system vs no till that’s purely misleading... tillage reduces soil carbon and organic uses the most tillage so how is that even possible... this guy has a hidden agenda
Interesting..VERY INTERESTING.. I suspect the faulure rate of cuttings may also have to do with batcteria around...its like once success has been made over about 20 percent rate at a spot where it is blm done then boom...rates fo way up...maybe its the person...butndoesnt seem to be...it really seems to be the spot it is done..i habe moved the spots and always notice a big failure rate...for no apparent reason.
