This part gives me so much trouble! I use 135 for the first “e minor” inversion. I will try using 245 instead, thank you! Time to take a slower tempo as well leading into “Allegro” 😅

Best of luck! * disclaimer: it might take time to get used to this, don’t despair if it doesn’t work right away. Push off and let go of the chord, use wrist rotation 😎

@@ElinaAkselrud I was always under the impression that the 7th was the most popular of the late sonatas. I think it’s because I’ve seen so many jokes and memes about that gigantic chord at the end of it. It seems I was wrong.

Very very good. The Sonata no.8 I've listened to in the past on the other performances has only been boring, but here I feel the true meaning of this music. Scriabin said that this sonata is not polyphonic like Bach, but homophony, with the sounds appearing together. Here, I feel that this music is irrational but transcendent, and its notes seem to span space and flow in the long river of pure time.

The sound of this piano is very thick, but not muddy and very clear, which seems to be very suitable for Scriabin's music. In comparison, the Steinway piano, which doesn't sound thick at all and is very crisp, is just terrible.🙄
@ElinaAkselrud
@ElinaAkselrud 4 дня назад
My piano has a very unique action. It’s really good, but a bit weird in a way - the sound is very ‘thick’, absolutely, and it’s extremely tough to play. After this one, it’s super easy on a Steinway though, let alone Fazioli 😎

@@unknownportalmusic there is no ‘recipe’, it really depends on lots of factors, as well as the goals - to what extent one wants to bring it when one starts studying (the context) or learning (practicing) such a work. It’s always going to help the development at any stage though, from just listening with the score, playing the themes (Melody only), or tackling the entire texture on the piano and exploring how far one can go with the interpretation… what I can say for sure is that there are no disadvantages with a smart, optimized approach! 😎

Oh yeah, this one is kinda trippy. So, I read that Scriabin was being criticized for holding too much to the traditional forms in his early works. But to me, the 8th has a really puzzling form at the first hearing. And the entire piece is just so steady, make it really sounds enigmatic, and impossible to tell where this is going. Even sometimes I forgot how very long this piece is 😅

@@ElinaAkselrud je préfères répondre en français, je me débrouilles mieux 😅 mais cette partie n'est-elle pas plutôt dans le développement ?
