It's interesting that there is no mention that the original songwriter was the legendary Elizabeth Cotten. It was recorded by her granddaughter Brenda Evans.
I have been going to Buskers nights for almost sixty years now. In the early days everyone finger picked the guitar and there were some brilliant musicians around. These days finger picking is a dying art everyone now just sings and stums basic chords. To make things worse everyone seems to play the same songs. It's such a refreshing change to hear this young girl who has put hours of practice into mastering these forgotten guitar styles sing and play . Well done lady!!
Wonderful playing. We have some of the McNally guitars in our local shop. People are really impressed by them. I know I was. Muireann and McNally are a match made in heaven.
I just came across your post on the acoustic guitar forum with the link to this video. Thanks for posting this video for those who cannot attend the exhibition. It is very much appreciated. Such wonderful guitars, especially the guitar Bouzouki model.
Absolutely lovely, I am 70 years old and live in Belfast, my eldest son is a guitar tutor and I used to play and sing around N Irelands pubs and restaurants. My early influences in music was delta blues. You have captured this guitar technique and your vocal accompaniment is superb. I wish you great success Muireann you have got the gift of musicality and the world is your musical oyster 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎤🎤🎤🎤🪕🎷🎻🥁🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼
