The founders of HEVI-Shot® were long-time waterfowlers frustrated by the poor performance of 1999-vintage waterfowl loads. In December 1999, they decided to launch a company to commercialize a revolutionary nontoxic tungsten-nickel-iron alloy developed by Dr. Darryl Amick of Albany, Oregon.
Within a year, the company began producing and selling HEVI-Shot® brand shotshells from a small rented space in Sweet Home, Oregon. Within two years, HEVI-Shot® received national exposure through a co-brand arrangement with Remington Arms Co. In 2005, ENVIRON-Metal, Inc. took back the brand and began production and sales of HEVI-Shot® products from our Sweet Home facility.
As a company founded by hunters, each step in our development is guided by the desire to make each hunt the best experience in the field you have ever had. Today, HEVI-Shot® products cover virtually any type of shooting or hunting that uses a shotgun.
Dear Jesus we thank you for Jason and what he stands for . Please protect him,his family and his company. I pray that they all would prosper!!! Amen!!! Thanks Jason!
I have shot Boss in the past which is full bismuth out of a 20ga. I am wanting to go to a 20ga full time but curious if there is a drastic difference between this load and full bismuth out of the 20ga. Hunting the fields is my biggest concern where the shots could be a little longer
Looks like it’s the old hevi metal which I did like a lot but with a different wad. But looking at the price might as well get the Hevi 12 and spend a little more and shoot all tungsten
Tried this on big Canada geese this year. 2’s. Really liked them and they definitely reached out further and much cleaner kills than steel. Yes they’re more expensive but a lot more lethal at least from what I’ve seen so far
I’ve done a lot a research and read a lot of data. It seems like the hevi 12 #6 has the same penetration as a B shot While #4 has the same penetration as a BBB
Novice duck hunter here…when you say the choke designation…are you referring to what the choke is listed, pattern-wise using steel…or what the standard choke is listed as? Like the choke says IC…but with steel ends up being a modified pattern (going by what is commonly stated by many as steel patterns tighter)???
I’m by no means a Pro, but I’d recommend that you buy some and take your Shotgun and bring your Chokes out to the range. If you have IC, Light Mod and Modified, I’d bring all 3 to the range. I’d try all 3 at various ranges to find out what you Particular Gun likes / patterns best with. Hope this helps you and Happy Hunting.
Shot that for half a decade switched to tss and switched back. Mag blend in some ways in 12g is superior at long distance to tss. Often over looked bigger pellets just do more damage
So it’s the original Hevi-Metal with 20% less 12g/cc Tungsten Alloy shot. I guess it’s improved with the Gen 2 FC wad, but what’s street price? Because I have a 70% chance of not hitting the bird with a tungsten-alloy pellet but 100% chance it will cost 2 to 3 times more per round than a straight steel load. No doubt it will kill birds, but what’s the real value over something like a straight Bismuth load? Federal might have bought out Environmetal Inc, but the boarder-line gimmicky pellet combos and bad pricing remains the same. 😂
I would like to try it. BUT! I've weighed pellets in heavy metal and they are actually lighter than steel in the same shot size. I understand the concept of smaller and supposed to be heavier but I don't believe them. I actually weighed the stuff on a scale and have a RU-vid video. If the new stuff is what they say it is I would probably try it. But I know for a fact their pellets haven't always been what they advertise them to be
I was gel testing you shells on Friday and I just pulled an oval shaped "#4" Hevi bismuth pellet out of a block of ballistics gel that is about the size of buckshot. And them 15 minutes later I saw this video lol
I have found a bunch of lies through their marketing and products. I don't trust that company. I also have found huge pellets in the hevi metal #2s. Some where the size of F shot of bigger
