I'm glad this video was made. Following the EF-5 tornado that devastated Joplin, Missouri on May 22nd, 2011; firefighters and paramedics had to rescue staff members and residents of the Greenbriar Nursing Home. Sadly, twenty-one fatalities occurred at the nursing home. The staff of the Greenbriar Nursing Home followed protocols to get the residents out of their rooms and into the hallways as they would be away from the windows and doors.
This is BULL ____T ! Dude has NOT VISITED Low Income buildings! OWNERS do NOT CARE & MOST Tenants are too PETTY or SEGREGATED or SCARED ( And a FEW TOO ILL ) to DO anything !
Remember the people who work at nursing homes (aids) do not get paid very well most live in poverty. Do you honestly think they will put their lives in danger to save people.
YES! 👍 IF THEY ARE TRULY TRAINED AND TRULY dedicated to their work AND RESIDENTS! HOWEVER, abandoning your residents in ANY crisis situation is against the LAW & very unprofessional here in California. DOING so CAN lead to the Families (Especially HOSPICE families) coming after you personally with A lawsuit! LAW enforcement in Social services Licensing detaining you, having you go to court and have your Licensed removed. RATHER YOUR A LICENSED HOME CAREGIVER or LICENSED whatever! THERE ARE MANY jobs to work and NOT be involved with this kind of work. This work takes backbone and a companionship attitude 👍
Many thanks, I been tryin to find out about "be prepared for emergency" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Konhloe Ranarah Equalizer - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my partner got cool success with it.
The part where the CEO kept dragging his fee on Evacuation was not a good idea! This is why healthcare needs to be considered as a RIGHT and NOT some business decision! This country needs to make shore that healthcare is a #1 Priority! Making shore that the facility had a big enough emergency generator that could accommodate ALL of the facility as if the power was on. That back up system should be able to sustain the facility for at least a minim of 30 day's straight. This includes enough fuel to run the back up systems. From what I saw with this CEO is if there was a Fire in this building he would be waiting to get people out of the building.
Cheers for this, been searching for "disaster preparedness government" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Konhloe Ranarah Equalizer - (search on google ) ? Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my brother in law got cool success with it.
I am a Trainer in Health and Social Care in the UK and I must say that I have not come across any video yet that so much highlights the various key issues Care Homes with Nursing (especially for the Elderly and / or Disabled) must have in contemplation by way of preparing in advance for any needed Emergency Evacuation. It is very useful instructional material from which trainees can pick up many useful points for further research and / or discussion. Thank you. I'm also glad this video was made. Following the EF-5 tornado that struck Joplin, Missouri on May 22nd, 2011; the Greenbriar Nursing Home was destroyed by the storm. Police and fire units had to rescue the staff and residents of the nursing home; there were ninety people there that night and sadly twenty-one people lost their lives. The staff and residents of the Greenbriar Nursing Home had been doing as they had been trained to do when the tornado occurred: sheltering in the hallway and avoiding windows.
I found it very informational. The beginning of the video made clear all of the "in case of emergency" preparedness, and throughout the video, the plan was put into action illustrating the challenges faced in such events. Thank you.
+Jonathan Paul Peterson Mr. Peterson, thank you for your feedback. We’d be happy to help search for any information you were hoping to find in our video. This video was designed primarily for training purposes to begin a discussion about emergency preparedness for those working for long term care facilities. More preparedness information can be found on our website: www.TheHealthDepartment.org
+The Health Department ...With all due respect, a video resource that truly focuses on preparation is what's needed. Options, options, options. Options of what TO DO and how to PREPARE are what is needed.
