So, I work for a marketing company that lost $650,000 because of the rain delay. I’m a huge Phillies fan. We had a company birthday party the winning night… The last out, I was the only one that cheered. The next day, my boss calls me in to the office and scolded me. I left that job November 1st.
Ngl even though this was a 5 game series both of these teams were absolutely dominant throughout the playoffs. But only 1 comes out alive. And Philadelphia was the one.
What a moment, needed to see this given the state of Philadelphia sports right now. Can the guys just celebrate before they shove t shirts and hats in their face? Let them be
I will never forget the Phillies winning the world series in 2008. Brad Lidge, winning it for Philly. I was at the parade on Halloween day, 2008. A day I will never forget. We had no school day of parade. I was very lucky. I am a die hard Phillies fan. Go Phillies!!!!!
I used to hate this call by Buck but I really like it now, with how it lets you hear the atmosphere in the stadium and how he isn't screaming over the crowd losing it like some announcers unfortunately do
As someone who didn't own a wide-screen, HDTV until 2013, I find these sports playoff videos really fun to watch. I forgot that as far back as 2006, lots of playoff games switched to 16x9, Digital signals. I remember watching this on a 20" RCA CRT set. The croping of the graphics on my old set went unnoticed then. Looking back now, it's funny to see how Network video editors used to format their screen graphics to accommodate 4x3 Standard Definition TV.
I dedicate this victory for the Phillies to my pop pop he got to watch the world series phillies victory in 1980 .he passed the next month. Rest Well pop pop
McCarver and Buck- You can't get anymore anti-Philly than that. Even though McCarver played for the Phillies, he's still a douche bag. He couldn't pronounce Chooch's last name properly. MORON!
Ironically enough, until the Astros lost only 2 games in 2022 (both to the Phils), no WS-winning team had lost as few as 3 games in the postseason since the Phils did in 2008.
The closeup of Lidge's face at 11:02 sticks out to me. Dude's one pitch away from clinching a World Series and he's just taking that little breath, resting his gaze on home plate, looking laser-focused and ice-fucking-cold.
