I'm no stranger to leaving a (constructive) negative comment on a Spitfire release from time to time regarding actual technicals, comparisons, errors, etc. But the bulk of negative opinions I always see on these kind of videos are funny to me. The main complaint seems to be that there's a lack of "creativity" in the usefulness of this kind of tool, however all I see is a bunch of people (admitting how uncreative they are by) not considering how they can be creative with a tool that I know I can make awesome stuff with.
If you could put out a review for world suite 3 before September 30 that would be great. Trying to figure out if this is something I could use for school and for modern quality standards (could I use it for AAA production now and foreseeable future?).
The only unique thing in this library is having separate articulations for upbow & downbow. I would love to hear a demonstration of those articulations alternating in some meaningful way, just as a real orchestra would do. Otherwise, they probably sound worse than most string libraries, as every note being in the same bow direction can sound phony.
As always, thanks so much for your work on the Deal Compressor shows. Something I have become excited about recently and I am waiting to go on sale: Divisimate 2, a program where you play a chord, and it sends MIDI notes separately to different instrument tracks, such as ones for different string, woodwind, or brass parts (e.g. violin, viola, cello, etc.). You can also set up single notes to play or arpeggiate chords. It was designed to auto-generate complex orchestral arrangements on the fly, but it can also work with any set of virtual instruments you choose, including synthesizers or hybrid ones. It sounds incredible when you play live, but you can also record the MIDI, to be edited later. I am a music hobbyist with an interest in orchestral music. For me, Divisimate looks like it would be a fun, fascinating tool for exploring orchestration. Full price is $249. I am willing to wait until the Black Friday or Christmas sales.
Hey Pete thanks so much for taking a few minutes to share you interest in the sDivisimate - November is just around the corner so am betting we will be able to find you a deal on it soon :)
Loads of new releases! I must be in a string section mood - I'd definitely like a review of Violin One and that Benjamin Wallfisch Strings library. And Floating Ensembles looks/sounds amazing!
First! Nice Early Release! Spitfire has also released a Symphonic Orchestra 'Tutti' for $99. Good deal for beginners! Crossgrades coming for SSO owners coming soon also!
Thanks so much for this summary and for all your reviews. Sound Yeti’s Revelation Hybrid Mallets impressed me so much that I will be checking out your review of Hybrid Flutes.
