How do you go about actually quilting this? Do you use your machine? Do you quilt by hand? Or do you use a long-arm quilter? I'm just getting to know my free motion quilting feature of my machine, and it's a pretty tricky skill to learn!
If I were to quilt it I would either use super simple straight lines or free motion quilting. Or maybe do quilt as you go so you wouldn't have any visible lines.
This is gorgeous. A trip around the world is definitely on my list. Might be the only way I get to trip around the world. sigh. Never mind, sewing is so relaxing and interesting it's as good as a holiday. Loved the video Sandy.
If I use 2 1/2" strips, how long should I cut them? I would like to know the ratio between strip width and length. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
Hi. So if you use 5 2.5 inch strips and sew them together you need to remove the seam allowance, which mine is 1/4inch per strip, so 2 inches off. So you would get a 10.5 inch square. If it were 6 strips, it would be 2.5inch seam allowance, so 12.5 inch square and so on.
Ohhh cette vidéo m’a fait craqué !!!! ❤ j’ai réalisé un watercolor quilt mais je n’arrive pas à vous mentionner sur Instagram 😢 Merci pour toute cette inspiration !!!
Sandy you are adorable! Your infectious enthusiasm for all things quilting inspires me every time I watch one of your videos! I haven't actually seen this series but I would say that your interpretation was spot on! Great job! Definitely love the fabric with the beautiful bird
Just saw this come up on one of your shorts! I love it :-) The link didn't actually come in on the shorts I had to go through your playlist to find it but glad I did! I would definitely give it a try :-)
I like scrappy quilts but only IF there’s still some kind of order or pattern. Most folks make the potato chip quilt as a giant hodgepodge. I love what you did and how you explain it.
