Remember: the camera itself is just one tool! Still: I would love to get my hands on one of these 1dx‘s. I own the 5D and a R6. I love the R6 for its autofocus, but if I want to take the time I love shooting with my 5D.
What is a good replacement for 1DX from another brand or even from Canon rather than 1DX2 or 1DX3? I want to get a replacement for my Canon 1D3 first, then later i can think about a replacement for 1DX if necessary, but i feel like i will hold longer on my 1DX until i see that mirrorless camera affordable enough to outperform DSLR mainly 1DX line for sports/actions still burst, i am not a videographer.
hi I have a question and maybe you can help me, do you have a Canon 1dx I understood how to save the c1,c2,c3 settings but when I have to select them to use them it just gives me c1 I can't switch to c2,c3 in the manual I couldn't find anything do you know how to do it? Thank you.
You're lucky. Shutter on mine died after 380 000 actuations and it's no longer a repairable camera. Unless you know of a place that will still be able to get, or has a stock of, parts for it in the UK. It looks like a brand new camera apart from being useless :)
Got mine secondhand, ~10 year old weather seals put up with a full on torrential rain even when the gortex emergency cover soaked through. Guess I've got to get out the hairnet & tweeters and replace the mirror box myself, they don't service these anymore 😖It's my favorite, what else can switch between filming 2K/30 and shooting beautiful 14FPS burst stills.
I stopped the video when he says is this camera still relevant in 2023? The answer is this kind of body will relevant for years regardless because great photography is not fundamentally about gear it’s about the narratives you create.
The strange thing is that people who have won awards and featured pictures in galleries and magazines have used the 1dx...so the camera is clearly good enough for 99% of people.
No matter how advanced the tech is, a bad photog will always take shit images. No matter how primitive the tech is, a great photog will always create great images. You'll find that great photogs are naturally great artists. Nothing will stop them from thinking the way they do.
But lets get real here! I been taking photos for over 60 years! How much megapixels do you really need! All depends on what your doing in photography... if your not making big prints! Then you dont need large megapixels! I Tryed'The Canon new mirrorless cameras and i was not happy with it! I still use my Canon 1D Mark III and my 1Dx And 1Dx Mark II and get great 16x20 prints
Thanks for the video. My do everything 1DS Mark III just died. Now considering another body. I need to get the office of budget and finance in agreement, because the 1DX is compatible with the batteries of my late 1DS Mark III and my still functioning 1D Mark III. Looks like a fine camera as a replacement.
Absolutely you all buy the RF ones. Me I just picked on up from MPB at about 675.00 USD. I have the 1D mk.4 as well. The 1DX does do video. Not it’s forte though. Shutter is rated at 400K life. Built like a Mosler safe. I have Sony Mirrorless too for that side. I even adapt the EF glass to all my Sony cameras too. A wrist grip is handy on those 1D makes. Canon’s best and still murder balls good.
Bought one in 2021 for 1,800.00 excellent cond about 40K clicked, used it a while sold it, just picked up another one today, $1,019.00 Like New with box only 1,204 clicks. The patient man prevails.
Thank you for this video. I love my Canon 1DX. It has 540k shutter count, but i hope it will works great next 4-5 years. I make money with this camera ❤
I still use this camera for ALL commercial work. It has always been solid and IQ is very acceptable for work going into the future. I will never sell it as its made $$$$$ for me.
Good luck and more good works man! I am also use 1DX for commercial work and my customers glad with results. My camera is 540.000 shutter count and i hope i will use it next 4-5 years)
Well , im still owned one 1DX classic , pretty much relevant for me for photo and also video shoot too. I was like "abusing" it to the max and proved that it is very durable in all condition.
@@seanpollock826 infact , need to be defind youreself clear , am i a "real" professional photogpraher frist, then choose your right gear. So many Dump or newB use way over powered gear and keep doing bad shooting,it makes "us" sad,and outsider call us bad name for not a photogpraher , just a photoman.sign***
Thanks, exactly the video I was looking for... I was hesitant if I should get the 1dxii or the original 1dx... but since one gets almost 2x of the original 1dx instead of a 1dx ii, I will probably go for the original (limited money to play with). BTW, I also like the larger memory cards, not a drawback for me, but rather something like (except for the pins of course).
@@seanpollock826 thanks for your earlier feedback, i just bought one, 500 Eur for a well looked after body. AMAZING value vs cost ratio... very much looking forward to playing with my new "toy"
I just happened to come across this video again, and I noticed that I previously commented on it 1 year ago.... in any case, just to let you know, I have NO regrets that I bought my 1DX MK1. If one uses good glass, this DSLR still rocks the boat, its a monster if you know how to handle your gear properly, and amazing value on top of it nowadays. Just out of interest, are you still using yours, or have you moved on?
