I remember seeing her at her first ever large venue performance, opening that all-day festival in Philadelphia's JFK Stadium. What a line-up. The Latin Rascals spinning between sets, Mama Monster, George Lamond, The Cover Girls, Stevie B, Company B, Paul Lekakis, Expose, and finally Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam headlining. I was only 40' from the stage. That Was LEGENDARY. Never mind that I was coked out of my skull the whole time. I still love this jam. I can appreciate what her daughter tried to do with that 2008 cover, but... Maybe she should just stick to her own music. She'll get farther.
