I’m still watching and learning from your guitar tutorials. Still the best out there. If you read this please reply and let us - all your fans, know you are ok.
Great video very helpful!! One thing I was wondering about it looked like you were starting and stopping with your left foot, but then I saw you tapping with your right foot. What was that doing?
You are the best teacher that taught me Be Honest by Jason Mraz. Slow and easy. I'm not good at playing the guitar but my frustrations' gone after I found the video. The first video that I found wasn't that detailed compared to yours. Thanks for the time creating this tutorial. I thoroughly enjoy and love it!
noticed that Jon is wearing pics that I think are called Alaska pics? Ordered them and hope they are the right size. How are they compared to the other standard pics? Thanks Nancy
Hi Jon I love this tutorial! I'm getting somewhere I just can't seem to figure out how to incorporate the G chord section picking pattern. Can someone help explain I'm lost on how to move forward and the tabs are not accessible anymore:(
Thanks for this. I play it of a Dmaj7 to a C9 and the Asus4 then From Bm to A and G#m using E string notes to embellish in between. I will try to incorporate some of your solo now.
Great lesson. The way you lay it out is perfect! 1000 bonus points for calling the chords rather than saying tedious stuff like "2nd fret on the A string with your 2nd finger and... " etc. Soooo many YT "teachers" fail to recognise that many of us play by chords and don't need the hand-holding BS. More bonus points for being able to sing in tune! All in all, a great lesson. I can only think of one other L & M song I play.. (Danny's Song) but this has been on my list for years.. "I really should work out HAPC"! So thank you for this! 🤩 P.S. There's a sweet little KL live version on YT ..(search "Live from Falls View"..i can't seem to embed the link..😵💫) from about 2020 in which KL modulates (crunches?) off the B major to push it from E major to G major. It works!
Really helpful, and very well thought out and explained. One question - you describe the pulse for the first for variations as an eight note pulse. Why am I hearing those bass/thumb notes as quarter notes? This video is eight years old, I don't fully expect a response, but it would be great if you did.
It's interesting to note you refer to "Travis-picking" for this RT classic as Merle Travis only ever used thumb and 1st finger so this particular song can't be played that way!
How difficult is this instrument to play for a total beginner? This is a Sitar? Oh, I have very smal hands, short fingers. Not sure if that would make this instrument harder to play with small hands?
Really glad I found this I like to rap But have problem with understanding the beat patterns and where chorus and verses start and stop I'm goin to keep practicing this thanks bro
Hello Mr Swift, I have enjoyed learning from your lessons and really appreciate the fact that you are a VERY good teacher as well as musician! Years ago, I studied what I believe was one of your videos on how to play Carolina in my mind by James Taylor. There is a sequence of shapes (which I have since forgotten) which was explained and I wondered if you could repost that video for me. Thanks so much!
How come when you turned off your vocal harmony before it finished playing, it still played until the end? When I do that on my boss rc300, it just ends immediately, so I'd need to stop it right after to make sure it doesn't replay
